When you're dieting you need a certain amount of protein or your body will begin cannibalizing itself. They recommend about 120-150 grams of protein for men who are dieting, and the average of 50 that a sedentary man would need is not enough

Recently I started strength training, and I’m already seeing good results. Mentally and physically I’ve just felt amazing, and I’m going to start training for a mini-triathlon that I’m doing this summer in about 4 months. I don’t plan to get first place, I don’t really care about how fast I am I just want to be able to complete it.

For me it’s been best to go at night. Your gym will probably be more crowded, but it helps so much with sleep (which I’ve struggled with for my whole life).

It's more personal preference than anything. I prefer mornings because it feels nice to just get it out of the way, though oftentimes I'm so busy I can't do my run/swim/weight lifting or what have you till late at night.

Mid-day is always the worst, it just feels awkward and it's always packed at the gym or pool around those times.

Muscular strength is highest in the afternoon while blood pressure is at its highest near noon

I am in good shape. My BMI is 23.2 which falls in the normal category. I eat about twice as much as the average person, but I have a fast metabolism and as a blue collar worker, I get a ton of exercise on a regular basis. My fiancee loves the way I look, but for some reason she sees herself as overweight, even though she has a nice figure and a BMI of 22.3. I think she looks perfect, but I guess as a Japanese person she is more self-conscious about her weight.
I hate conservatism. But, I REALLY FUCKING HATE LIBERALISM!!!!!!

In Japan, only sumo wrestlers are allowed to be built like a sperm whale. Here in america, that's a huge part of the population

Yup, and sumo wrestling is a dying sport. At this point it is really just foreign tourists and a few elderly Japanese that still watch it. It's heyday ended in the 1990s.

So, I'm planning on losing about 60 pounds. Currently, I'm fairly active, although I don't really work out. My biggest problem is that I eat like garbage. I can say though, after recording my weight for over a year, I have stopped really gaining weight. I have gained a total of 5 pounds overall in the past year. So I assume I should start off by changing my diet. I don't want to try anything too altering, like completely cutting carbs from my diet or something, I just need to figure out a diet plan that I would most of the crap out and start me off on a steady decline so that when I actually start to work out, I will have the energy to do so.
I am Center-Left Libertarian. (-3,-3) on the Political Compass. My friends call me Whiskey cause I was named after a bottle of Jack Daniel's.

I've been drowning myself in work, I just started Culinary School, and I recently got called a Boot Licker for thanking a veteran for their service. I'm sad that I have to witness the part of history where supporting Cops and Troops is seen and a radical ideology.

I got a weight set in the basement and now that it's cold as hell I don't wanna head out to the gym so I just exercise down there.
