I'd imagine that many groups in the Middle East aren't going to wait long to form some form of coalition or something in response to this bullshit. Iraq and Iran are definitely going to be hellbent against the US.

Nah the US are here clearly on the sunni side. I wouldn be surprised if they cheer Trump for his actions as we speak. Thats the real thing here that the US have become involved in an inner-islamic middle eastern conflict.

The Sunni Gulf States love what Trump is doing to Iran.

I don't see what the problem is.

The problem is that it has made Iran all pissy. More so. Again.

So? Who gives a shit? Let them throw their tantrum.

When did we start becoming afraid of Iran?

It’s more than a little misleading. Those troops where already planned to go a month ago. This is really just a massive coincidence

Because the so called terrorist was a general in a country's army, and his death may bring about even more hardship for our troops on the ground

He was responsible for the deaths of hundreds of our troops, so by all accounts we prevented hardship for them.

Considering the general was there to formulate more attacks against US personnel it sounds like they were gonna do that anyway. Lashing out is Iran's modus operandi by this point. They're a rogue state.

This is a guy who had a hand in blowing up French, American, and other European embassies like it was nothing in the 1980s and 1990s. He also had a hand in blowing up the American embassy in Lebanon and the marine barracks. If AQ never existed this guy would have taken OBLs spot

It wasn't a disaster it simply was a giant waste of time for them because they weren't allowed to actually do anything.

The costs for Israel was money spent blowing stuff up, and a few dozen people panicky because of Hezbollah's giant bottle rockets.

But not once in any part of the Lebanon War was Israel ever in danger of being destroyed.

President Donald Trump has said the US killed Iran's top military commander Qasem Soleimani "to stop a war, not to start one".

He said Soleimani's "reign of terror is over" after the strike at Baghdad airport in Iraq on Friday. Soleimani spearheaded Iran's Middle East operations as head of the Quds Force.

Mossadeq was elected. The Shah was not. We aided in his overthrow. Is it really hard to understand why Iranians don't like america?

Again Mossadeq seized dictatorial powers, and banned elections once it was clear he would lose. At the time of his overthrow there were mass protests against his regime which had become very unpopular.

Also the Clerics ruling Iran backed his overthrow. So no, that is not a really good reason at all.

The only reason Israel didn't get anywhere in Lebanon in 2006 was because half the time Hezbollah was hiding all their stuff inside refugee camps and Israel at the time had no interest in slaughtering a bunch of UN soldiers just to kill them.

It was a giant game of whack a mole that Israel eventually got tired of playing and stormed off about.

Why would they be? Some groups in Lebanon being able to conduct guerrilla warfare is quite different than being an active threat.
