I personally don't know why the U.S is being blamed for being agressive when Iran harried our ships but I really hope that this remains in the saber rattling category. Especially considering Russian ships did the same thing around the same time. link for that here

Have you seen them? One guy with a burp gun mounted in the prow of a speedboat vs. an armored frigate? Are you kidding? Meanwhile Russian planes buzz US military aircraft around the world and Trump says...fuck all. imo the Iranians just need to dig up some dirt about Hunter Biden and they can play speedboat chicken with heavily armed US warships all day and all night.

As was said before, the speed boats could have explosives. Plus, self defense exists as a right even if your assailant would be relatively ineffectual.

You're essentially showing everyone that B is true, and then arguing that C is true, because A + B = C. But you haven't proven that A is true, and that's your logical fallacy.

However, let's assume that Russia's intervention led to Trump's election; if that's the case, wasn't that Obama's failure to safeguard US election from foreign influence? In the age of the internet, foreign interference is going to happen. It's up to numerous US intelligence agencies to make sure said intervention is ineffective. So either the Obama cabinet, with Obama at the helm, failed miserably, like utter morons, or the intervention was ineffective. Can't have it both ways. I think that it was ineffective, and I've yet to see any proof to the contrary.

I don't see any downside. Remember that Iran is only able to attack the US overseas and not on its home soil. Whilst the US is able to at minimum, wage an air campaign against Iran if it needed to come to that. If its strictly a naval engagement, it'll be confined to that. Iran wouldn't escalate and if they do, the US can respond in kind or choose to ignore their action if it'll bring the brinkmanship down.

Don't be ridiculous. Of course you don't treat the two the same. Shoot down a Russian jet and there's going to be a lot of headaches going around, moreso than if you'd done nothing.
