Of course. It is a step by step phenomenon.

It's still being counted live right now but the gap is too large.
One of my friends while we were watching the votes still being counted here, said "it's time to change the result with military force to save the Republic of China."
I was like: "Unfortunately, we don't have the numbers here. If you changed the votes to soldiers as an estimate."

Christ, your views are despicable. Absolutely fucking despicable. It's good at least to see that your mask is completely off.

Although it's perhaps disturbing that 35-40% vote for.
I also note how quickly celebrities, companies and other vocally express their concern for Australia fires, which is absolutely fine, but what isn't fine is their silence on China atrocities.

It demonstrates that democracy doesn’t always lead to good governance or reasonable decisions
In fact, it’s likely to act as a force of division and Balkanization

Given that Taiwan is far better than then the CCP occupied territories this is clearly wrong. Taiwan is better governed than the mainland.

The KMT wouldn't have re-unified with the PRC yet. That's not the party platform. They just favour better economic ties with China (for eventual reunification).
It's the policy that makes the most sense (in my view). The green party is going to raise defense spending, further militarise the region, and promote more identity politics. Furthermore, in moving further away from their identity as Han Chinese/Republic of China and embracing a more locally defined identity, they give up all claims and chances of being part of a great power.
I honestly think the KMT would be better.

Economic ties are a PRC Trojan Horse. The world knows the PRC uses them to impose censorship and interfere in domestic politics.
What is wrong with raising defense spending? You contradict yourself. You are obsessed with have power, but a stronger military means more power.
Yes Taiwan is losing its Chinese identity, but this is the fault of the PRC. If mainland China had a federal or confederal government that respected the rights of people, Taiwan would still be part of it. They are only moving away because the PRC is so toxic.
Anyways if it is all about being a world power why not support the (admittedly small) movement for Taiwan to join the US?
That way they can be part of a world power, but one that is very wealthy per capita, where people have rights, and they would still retain the ability to elect their own government freely.
The ROC government reports that 95 to 97 percent of Taiwan's population is of Han Chinese ethnicity, which includes Hoklo, Hakka, and other ethnic groups originating from mainland China.[25][26] Over 2% of the population consists of indigenous Taiwanese.[4]

the people on the island are ethnic Han Chinese (mostly)The ROC government reports that 95 to 97 percent of Taiwan's population is of Han Chinese ethnicity, which includes Hoklo, Hakka, and other ethnic groups originating from mainland China.[25][26] Over 2% of the population consists of indigenous Taiwanese.[4]
it makes no sense to discard the Republic of China identity when that is a beneficial part of the island's historical roots
No one is saying, "join the PRC now," you can do it in a few decades when things are more to your liking but the economy of the island is already bad enough as it is without further needless confrontationalism and identity politics

Fuck statism. Yeah, great power. The Sinostate is rich. Does that make the Chinese aka subjects of the Sinostate rich? Nope. The Sinostate is corrupt, robs the Chinese people and gives the money to Sub-Saharan Africa. Ms. Xi kissed a random Rwandan girl but won’t ever touch a random Chinese girl. Is that fucking awesome?
I think we should deport all communist leaders to Africa. If they care about Africans so much to the point of robbing the Chinese to aid Africa I think they should remain leaders but need to find their right countries.

If it means what I think it means, then it seems the situation is either "suck up to Red China" or push degeneracy and moral while flipping the bird to Red China (this in itself is a moral act).
Degeneracy?
