Got really lucky. Went to confession and participated in benediction yesterday and found out today that all Catholic Masses in the State of Indiana are cancelled due to the virus.

So i guess, helping your neighbor should be all those actions which directly help someone in need.
While avoiding to cause harm to others, is more along the lines of "don't cause evil".

I don't see how that is a meaningful distinction. We refrain from evil, for the good of our neighbor.

Sure. I'm not questioning the goodwill of it.

But not doing evil, isn't the same as, doing good.

Not stealing from others, isn't the same as donating to others.
Not being a serial killer doesn't make one a saint.
Not infecting others (willingly or for lack of preparedness) is the bare minimum to don't be a jackass or a dumbass, it isn't the same as treating the sick or helping them in their hardships.

Doing good, is doing something more for others.
Not causing harm to others is the bare minimum of the civil living. Doing good goes past the bare minimum.
(in the christian understanding of good, buddhists seems to stop at the don't cause harm part)

You made out as if you have a translation of the Bible that differs from the ones that others may be referring to; and that being the source of the discrepancy in your interpretation. Based on that, it'd help greatly if you clarified what translation you are using, and also why specifically the meaning of the parts you are alluding to are not clear.

I'm willing to bet no matter what version he's using, I have a copy somewhere. Seriously I have too many. It's a problem.
