I try not to take things too seriously unless they involve harm to people, animals, or the environment.

But given that I've previously stated my disapproval of schisms (especially the Protestant Reformation) I think it's rather clear where I stand on this. Naturally I'm more sympathetic to the German priests here, but that doesn't mean I agree with their move to outright defy the Vatican. I shouldn't need to say this, really. Disunity harms the church. That said, I don't expect this to turn into 95 Theses 2.0

it's not even about the situation, it's about LV making light of it. All she had to do was say sorry, we've all made jokes at the wrong time, it happens. We’ve had other Catholics (Dylar in particular) already comment that yes, this is a troublesome situation. Maybe LV’s joke had bad timing (to be honest it wasn’t WRONG, the German priests are probably going to get excommunicated), but after every comment that’s been made today about toxicity and then trying to change the subject toward some sort of action, it comes back to this asinine finger-pointing. If you don’t want to talk to LV, then block them. We know that this is a serious matter, and we must pray. Not chase away people who are genuinely trying to come into the Faith.
