Greta Thunberg is just not the right person to lead this crusade against climate change exactly due to her incompetence and complete irrelevance.

I get angry when I saw her twitter posts. All those well taken photos with her shaking hands and stuff. Are you a REAL activist when what you do is to make Hollywood styled red carpet photographs?

Do some digging, and you'll find similar photos of Ghandi. Does that make him not a "real activist"?

She’s a young girl making more of a difference than most celebrities and world leaders. The magazine chose her, and if you don’t like that then wait for next year’s nomination.

Just as often as Thunberg. Every leftist and their uncles have been yelling that the world was to end in ten years for the past fifty. She didn't start nothing.

Once again, you show us all that you have no fucking clue what you're talking about. The consistency is almost impressive.

Despite initial well-meaning, the HK protests have been co-opted by right-wing goons taking money from the Kochs and other shadowy fuckers. And in America itself, the support for the protestors seems to be dominated by basement-dwelling incel gamers who don't care about any actual human rights abuses by the PRC and more about Blizzard being stupid or whatever. Also they jerk off over the leather-clad rooftop archers or whatever cause masculine fantasy.

Corporations despise the free market, and have for the past 130 years.

Correction: It dates back to the early 19th century in the US, with the institution of protectionists tariffs, and further still in Britain.

Which is why they keep lobbying in favour of it.

And I don't see how the current approach adopted by Greta helps solve the problem anyway.

Yup, and screaming on UN won’t stop China either.

China is a road blockade on everything, it blocks environmental protections of the entire world, it blocks democracy from making its way into the developing Africa.

Sure it will: the EU & US can force China to change any time they like. China is dependent on trade with them. If they start punitively taxing that trade until China cleans up its act, China will clean up its act.

Hong Kong People wrote:I am fine with people who actually make a change in our environment getting selected. But for Greta, she doesn't deserve it.

She didn't start the conversation, she's just its newest poster child. People have been saying the exact same thing for fifty years.

So which world governments were setting timelines for hitting zero emissions five years ago?
