That doesn't work. Tested it.

That is absolutely unfathomable! The very thought makes a man want to do something crazy, like working for a liveable wage...

Democratic Socialism was an unknown, shunned and ridiculed ideology in the USA until like 2-3 years ago. With the rise of AOC and her adepts its gaining traction though.

Ahem, the New Deal. America already had experience with Socdem-esque policies in the 1930s, and the consensus lasted all the way up until the early 1970s, when Nixon unilaterally ended the Bretton-Woods system and the Arab nations of OPEC embargoed the West due to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, thus setting in motion the 1973 Oil Crisis. So no, social democracy isn't a "alt-left" ideology, and "democratic socialism" in the American vernacular is more often than not a misnomer for the Nordic model.

I should add that at least Sweden has afaik since the 1990s moved into neo-liberalism socially and economically and abandoned most of its nordic model. Nowadays they are also adopting SJWism in addition to neoliberalism...

For the record I never claimed that Social Democracy is an alt-left ideology. Just whats currently surging in trend. That doesnt means what you described (and what i do support by the way) didn existed before.
I find the Nordic Model is pretty gucci if overrated. And as said I believe Sweden and Finland abandoned it in favor of some sort of neoliberalism.
