I'll confess to being a fan of both. Juicy gossip can be quite fun, mate.

It can be, but considering people just don't take the chance to get to know me, it'd go over my head anyway. So in my case, it's mostly "eavesdropping".

Here in Europe, especially here in Germany, you will find quite a few people who consider mixing alcohol with other drinks a sacrilege.

I drink my alcohol straight by default, as mixers get me too full with not enough tipsiness. Though funny enough, I absolutely hate the taste of most liquors save for gin.

I also take way too long to actually get drunk, and usually I've reached the point of gagging and not wanting to drink anymore before I get plastered. I've never blacked out though, and it's not something I aspire to do.

Might depend on the rum - Havana Club with coke is fine (with me, at least). I myself am more 'purist' about beer ...

They just do, though. I don't find anything pleasurable about drinking any of them, with rum being the least nauseating and whiskey being the worst.

The most tolerable liquors I find to be gin, vodka, and sake (though sake is referred to as a wine). Tequila can also be pretty rough, and Jagermeister + similar liquors are okay.

Sounds so, indeed. Ordering only a shot (mostly in addition to one's 'main' drink, but ordering, say, a glass of whiskey or vodka without anything mixed into it) in a pub is the most normal thing in the world in here.

Agreed. In my experience the best conversations are the ones that can weave both together fluidly.

I'm with you here, I can take straight shots of vodka, gin, even tequila, all the so called "clear alcohols" like it's Gatorade. But rum, brandy, and that lot? It just makes me feel dead inside.

Gin for the win, no doubt about it.

It's quite simple with a HDMI cable and I imagine other options are only marginally more difficult.

Right now I'm typing this on the television screen. Indeed, the laptop that I'm technically using was bought primarily to be hooked up to the television. Sometimes I go weeks without using a laptop as intended.

Of course, the television isn't actually plugged into the aerial any more but that's because we moved it slightly.

So... technically I use the television all the time, but it's really just an enormous computer monitor now.

It was a TV show. There's a cartoon of a dude throwing his TV over a cliff with the caption "the day the Mary Tyler Moore show finished". There's also a play we read at school that mentioned it. Never seen it myself.
