I also am really good at visualizing information. Like I can easily picture maps and such as if I’m actually looking at them. Idk how to describe it without sounding like I’m making it all up or like I’m trying to seem special or something, because I’m not. But apparently it’s not normal, as I learned in middle school. I don’t really tell people about it unless they ask (and that’s usually prompted by the fact that I sometimes make weird hand motions when I do it; not trying to show off, it just makes it easier for me to focus for some reason).

Unless of course it is normal. In which case, ignore all of that.
[...]

Xmara wrote:[...]

These particular points would make you entirely normal by my standards. :D

Aside from this, I have a weird obsession for languages (I decided to study linguistics for a reason). Not that I could speak an unusually high number of languages (fluent at three, communicative at two dialects of my first language, able-to-survive at a handful of others), but I'm sort of perfectionist when it comes to the pronunciation of foreign place names, words, and phrases, no matter how exotic that language may be. When playing guessing capitals (the game Xmara beats everyone at, including me, I assume), I tend to try to pronounce the particular capital as correctly as possible, even if this makes it entirely unintelligible for the person quizzing me (for example, I try to make Ulaanbaatar sound as Mongolian as possible, even with their unique way of pronouncing an 'l'). Needless to say, it might drive them crazy. ^^
What else ... I have a weird obsession for road numbering systems (people who know me from roleplays and/or IC social media do know where this can go) and license plates - both already since my childhood.
Generally, I excel at memorizing useless facts - which might not sound particularly weird, until you ask my former schoolmates, who, whenever I meet them today, still quiz me at any possible useless facts about the novel and audioplay series I've been into back then. I somewhat regret bragging about this too much (see here, also for further points showing, that I'm not entirely within the norm), but as a late teen, being made fun of because of this wasn't a problem for me, for I thought, that it's better to gain attention by being ridiculed as a nerd than not getting noticed altogether. Yeah, naïve younger me ...
And the most important point - I'm on NS. I run six main nations (and RP with all of them), next to (currently) ten puppets that serve as NPC-Nations. The only thing that relieves me, is that I'm not the worst person in this regard I've ever met in here. ;)
Since Lillorainen's geography is currently being overhauled a 'tiny' bit, most information on it posted before December 12, 2018, is not entirely reliable anymore. Until there's a new, proper factfile, everything you might need to know can be found here. Thank you. #RetconOfDoom (Very late update, 2020/08/30 - it's still going on ...)

With great power comes great responsibility, with great dignity comes great humulity.

Some of the most unassuming and ordinary looking people are also the most extraordinary. My uncle is a simple man to me when I was a kid, only to find out lately that he was 2 Star General.

My mom's grandparents look dirt poor but they own vast amounts lands in Pangasinan and have family trees proving their noble descent, yet every couple of generations, they look poor because they donate everything to charity before the lineage proves itself again.

I am the top contributor in Wikipedia in the Philippines Article, I have been on intimate terms with Presidents and Vice Presidents. But really, it's bad taste to be self-important and consider yourself special.

Remember the fable of the Sword of Damocles.

I actually suspect the lamp may be from the late seventies, as to my knowledge that particular lamp was manufactured from the late 70s onwards. The phone and alarm clock have a date of manufacture on them, so they are far easier to know they are from the 80s with absolute certainty.

I've got a stereo multi-band radio tuner from the 80s as well, and looking at old catalog prices it actually cost about as much as a small car at the time. I think it was so expensive because it uses multiple LED lights for the function displays etc, as LED lights were still quite expensive technology at the time, as far as their use in consumer products was concerned.

That's pretty sweet. I have this tape recorder that's old enough that the tape door isn't actually springloaded. I'd reckon it's from the 70s. On a related note, I have a total of 4 tape players: a GE portable stereo (it's basically a Walkman), the previously mentioned tape recorder, a smaller, newer GE tape recorder (maybe from the 90s), and an early 2000s tape/CD/radio combo.

I believe that I'm the only person posting in NSG who's:

Hunted with pygmies in the Congo rainforest

Been chased by baboons in Nigeria

Taken a helicopter to a former pirate base on a Venezuelan desert island

Hunted Nazis in northern Argentina

Shaken hands with the Duchess of Cambridge

Entered a still-under-excavation ruined 5th-dynasty pyramid in Egypt

There's probably a few others, too; but are those enough signs that I'm 'comfortably out of the norm'?

Btw, speaking of rather unique stuff, I believe I'm the only one on NSG that's been a nationwide cadre of a communist party (an actual party, meaning one with MPs, MEPs, and even ministers in the cabinet).

I’m not gonna out myself completely because my first NS country was cringey as hell, but the flag ripple option was added as a direct result of me asking about flag ripples in a thread.
