People keep talking like Islamists would wear working suicide vests. A fake suggests he really isn't that committed to dying or he wanted to pass himself off as one.

He only revealed it after the police had tased him. He wanted to be martyred. It's the same thing the attackers in 2017 did.

I don't see what the problem is with people assuming Islamic terrorism until further information comes out. Given the prominence of it as opposed to other forms of terror lately it's a reasonably safe assumption to make. Much like 100 years ago it would have been to suspect anarchist bombers. Or how when headlines read "evil empire invades small nation" it's fairly safe to assume the united states of america are the aggressor.

It's quite natural and reasonable to assume, when lacking information, the most obvious and likely to be the truth.
