What does a one-party society have to do with monarchy?

Most monarchies in modern memory were/are multiparty systems.

There is not a single decent policy being put forth by any of the dem clownshow, and some are downright batshit insane and/or treasonous.

Reagan was one of only two good Presidents in my lifetime (I start the list with Carter). The rest are bad (Obama and Carter), or mediocre (the rest of them).

Good by what metric?
Abolitionism in the North has leagued itself with Radical Democracy, and so the Slave Power was forced to ally itself with the Money Power; that is the great fact of the age.

The triumph of the Democracy is essential to the struggle of popular liberty

Well if not nationalism and populism, where does the GOP go? Because George Bush/Mitt Romney-style conservatism is dead and not coming back.

Populism isn't right or left. You can still have populist talking points and move left on healthcare. The GOP could win more votes IMHO if they kept their low tax emphasis and their increasing emphasis on less global involvement, but embraced more government regulation of healthcare. I don't expect that to happen, but if it did they would win back a lot of those suburban districts.

^i m not american. as far as i ve read, Carter and Reagan were good. it s Kennedy and Nixon in case, that were modest.

why do guys, often ignorant, in forums say shubby about Carter? besides clawing for success, he also was prophet of military-industrial complex.

I'm just gonna go by the assumption that the dominant party will always absorb more controversy. With how bipartisan the US is, I doubt there will be a Democratic monopoly of politics any time soon. The public likes drama too much for that.

I really liked that thing where he implemented Trickle-down Economics and wealth tax loopholes within the nation, thus killing the middle class, making the poor poorer, and allowing the rich to become even richer, creating a massive wealth and socioeconomic disparity.

They have been saying this since the 1990s. I don't think it's going to happen.

Since the 1990s, Republicans have lost the popular vote in 6 of 7 presidential elections. Demographics have produced a Democrat majority but the Senate, voting laws and the EC have allowed Republicans to maintain power by becoming a minority party. Eventually the numbers game will cost them ad their base shrinks. They can only twist the rules so far.

If he means truly permanent then, I may have to take up that leave offer as a One party controlled country is not exactly a recipe for good times. What I'm saying is id rather not be here if America becomes another Germany/Russia incident lol.

I doubt the Democrats will keep their power if they are able to control both the White House and the Senate. There will be another party that will try to challenge them while the Republican party disappears or just changes into a new party.

There could also be a fracture within what we currently call The Democratic Party.
It's happened before, a few times.
The Dixiecrats of 1948 & 1968 eventually split and joined the GOP over the course of several years.

Divided government is actually desirable for the average American. No president since Jimmy Carter had the same party controlling both Houses of Congress for their whole term. And the Democrats weren't exactly in ideological lock-step during the Carter years.

The founders didn't envision political parties as a check on power, but they would likely appreciate another check on executive power, even if it wasn't one designed or envisioned by themselves.

Remember when the President elected people who are qualified into the cabinet whether they were the same political party or not? I think we should go back to this system.
