I hope to live to see the demise of the Republican Party, which has made itself into a nest of traitorous white supremacist misogynists willing to use any tactic from voter suppression to soliciting foreign interference in order to retain its last shreds of power. In a perfect world it would be supplanted by a party farther to the left of today's Democrats, but in a world where The One Percent control every important aspect of life its replacement will probably be another shill for the oligarchs.

The Republicans faced a choice: begin to appeal to the people who will form a majority of US society or resort to voter suppression, gerrymandering, dirty tricks, foreign interference and outright fraud. They chose badly, and the day will soon come when none of their cheating will be of any use to them. Whether or not the US becomes a permanent large-D Democratic nation, the Republicans' days are numbered.

You are assuming that the majority of incoming immigrants are democrats. Quite a few of them come from authoritarian regimes and will not identify with the democrats. It is a misreading of the situation.
