One wonders why Bush wasn't impeached for that unbelievable failure and the lies he pushed.

NOT impeaching Bush worked out very well for the Democrats. Deeply unpopular in his second term, Bush tarred his whole party giving Dems control of Congress in 2007–2009 (110th Congress) then the holy grail of 60 votes in the Senate in the 111th, along with the election of Obama.

In short, political expediency. I agree with you Bush deserved to be impeached.

Democrats have done everything in their power to reign in this out of control POTUS. The Democratic base takes to the polls next November in massive numbers and reward their congresspersons.

While they're at it, might as well vote for the Dem nominee (whoever) since we've been assured Mitch and his pals will not honor the impartial command of their oath as jurors in the Senate trial of Trump.

If Trump actually manages to get reelected despite being impeached then that pretty much discredits impeachment as a check on power forevermore.

but that's what happened with Hillary they found her innocent before there was even a mention of no trial. so its laughable that the democrats are crying foul about republicans being un fair. what's unfair is that instead of helping the people who gave them the house the democrats focused on removing Trump from office. the way I see it is that the longer and harder the democrats come after trump to remove him the worse he becomes he most likely would have been a 1 term president if it weren't for this whole Russia probe, and impeachment deal

being re elected and having the democrats lose control of the house would most likely be enough in his mind.

Three impeachments that resulted in no conviction would make it look useful as most Americans think of the U.N. Although it would be ironic and amusing if Trump once again broke norms by being the first President to be successfully convicted and removed from office. That would eat him more than any subsequent state trials for his laundry list of crimes.

in reality he is still basically innocent until proven guilty but this Congress has thrown basic criminal justice rules out the window from many floors up

I have to give Trump credit, I've never seen someone attack a dead man on Twitter twice and lose each time. Of course, as he is the self-proclaimed Chosen One, King of Israel and God's Second Coming he may very well be taking the fight to the afterlife by virtue of his Great Wisdom, as prophesied by Paul of Manafort in Two Corinthians.
