And honestly, why should I?

That's pretty unnuanced for many reasons

Namely, like it or not, the US's position as the global superpower means that it is incredibly connected with the global political system(s) and the entire world relies on the US to maintain the international systems in place as they all often require US hands in them if they want to be global due to how much they control. Like it or not, superpowers are deeply ingrained in international politics. If one out of two falls, the rest and simply flock to the other side, but if the other side falls, the results would be catastrophic as many things that rely on the US lose connection with the now-dead US and countries will have to rebuild basically everything now that multiple agreements and treaties are put into a state of void now that the US is gone. Countries might even fight to maintain their place, and as much as I'm endlessly tired with the whole 'no war' hippie shtick, I don't think a globe in conflict is a very nice world.

Look, the fact that the US has New York City alone is already telling. It's the centre of business, finance, media, diplomacy, many organisations in the world have offices in NYC including the UN which has its headquarters there. Oh, and let's not forget cities like San Francisco, San Jose and Seattle as well as their surrounding area and numerous cities in California which are centres of technology, IoT, internet businesses, social medias and other tech/internet-related stuff. A divided America will have to reorganise everything which could take a while whilst these centres stagnate and fail to keep their ground across the world which would collectively result in worse quality of life across the world.
