But it’s better than being short, so...

Watching a nice sunset with a dog is great, but really more of a point in the sunset's favor.

So I found an Australian dollar coin in my laundry room. I know its not even worth a dollar in the states, but I find it odd that it ended up in my laundry room

I remember having a Maltese lira coin that I found in the basement. Can't tell for the life of me what happened to it: probably put it in some drawer somewhere.

Before the advent of the Euro it was very common to get all manner of coins handed over to shop staff in the UK to pay for goods, because the person had clearly been on holiday somewhere in Europe and had some of the coins still mixed in with the British coins in their wallet or purse. Italian lira were quite commonly mistaken for British coins, as some of them looked very similar at first glance. The 100 Lire coin for example was very similar to the 10p coin.

But that problem mostly went away when the Euro was adopted, as the Euro coinage is more difficult to mistake for British coins.
