That's awful. A few days ago, my flatmate was out rollerskating, and he fell and fractured/dislocated his femur. He had to get surgery twice, because it didn't go right the first time. He's still not home yet. I slipped today and almost fell on my face, but I somehow managed to spin my body around and land on my shoulder. Looks like everyone's been falling...

I don't think it's broken, at least I hope it isn't.

Generally you should be able to tell if a limb is broken. Though if you think it's bad, even if it's not broken, seeing a doctor would probably be a good idea.

I've broken a bone once: my collarbone, and in the initial shock I had gotten off the ground and was walking around but then the pain hit me like a freight train and I had to sit down and couldn't get back up again.

The pain in my foot isn't that level of pain, so I don't think its broken. If the pain persists for a couple days, I'll check with a doctor.
