Well... optimism and positivity isn't too bad. Though I admit, sometimes an overly cheerful person can be uncomfortable to talk with. And I can relate because I am one of them!

How about a balance -- there are good things in life, there are bad things; dreadful things happen in the world, amazing things happen. Rather than take a view of total optimism or total pessimism, why not strike a balance.
