The "I hate sand" joke aside... Yeah, beach houses are awesome! I would totally get one in maybe Burma or something.

Singapore just doesn't cut it with beaches. Heck, our beaches are not even good for running around, because of how land-area-deprived it is.

Get three alarms, and put them in three different places in your room.

My phone has this built-in function where you have a 2x2 square with numbers and you have to tap them in ascending order to deactivate the alarm.

It's quite effective... In a way. Sometimes it works, but for other times, that little puzzle isn't gonna stop Val from sleeping again.

Never had time to investigate the beaches in Singapore. Wouldnt mind though.
