Oh? The USA is civilized by virtue of being the international hegemon (for it is the current bearer of the Mandate of Heaven, as bestowed upon America by Providence); it thus stands to reason that all other countries are barbaric to some extent, and that it is our moral imperative to Americanize the world, much as it was the Romans' imperative to Romanize the (Mediterranean, at least) world.

What the hell is a mandate of heaven (also, what's a heaven in this context)? And who is Providence?

You... you don't know what the Mandate of Heaven is, or what Divine Providence is? Are you writing in jest or are you being sincere?
Sincere, religious concepts are inapplicable to me. So heaven, divinity, it's all mumbo jumbo to me, especially in the context of a civilized society.

Yes, but surely you've at least heard of such concepts? I mean, I was being silly before you said you don't know what I'm talking about, but now I'm just... concerned, really. You haven't even heard of such concepts in passing?

MDY is idiotic.
Days happen within months, which happen within years. Not even Americans do bloody Minutes/Seconds/Hours.
File names are made for computers and, hence, don't sort nicely unless you reverse the entire order... but that preserves the inherent logic of the system. Computers can also throw hissy fits about 19 versus 2019 so obsessing about what works best for them is... silly.
And that's ignoring the ease of having a folder for each month in a bigger folder of a year... or with a year/month name such as 2019-10.
YMD is superior. After all, when writing a regular number like a million we write 1 000 000. Not 000 000 1. So, big first. Same goes for time units.

YMD is the proper format according to ISO 8601, anyway. As an example, it's currently 2019-10-24 (or: the 24th of October, 2019).

In relation to a civilized society? Not really, perhaps in geopolitics, as used as an excuse for imperialism and treating other cultures like shit.

A friend of mine is quite into anime. I don't think he was so much way back in year seven (2007) but it might explain why when we were making Santas at school his was (a) blue and (b) Vampire Santa.
No, I do not remember what anyone else's Santa was like (including my own). Presumably they were conventional. Someone might've done a gumboot one.
He's an accountant now... read what you like into that.

However, I think Black Friday is as a passing fad. I can't see it surviving post-Capitalism.
