The place of the poor should be luxury, as theirs is the Kingdom of God. :)

A world could end but if saving human race we could build a new world. I just wonder if you or most of you want to survive.

What got you to this conclusion? I never thought you'd for a doomer.

Unlikely.

The way I look at it is that if/when it ends, then I will not be able to worry about it for long.

I'd be worried about the slow, painful build to an end of the world extinction event. If I turned on the news, however, and saw "Meteor Inbound, Everyone Has 24 Hrs to live," I'd almost be less concerned. Like, then at least you know when your expiry date is.

The world won't end, but humanity might... eventually. It's a common question, it doesn't make sense to me (given my background).

YEs it will.

It's guaranteed to happen within the next 2-5 billion years as the Sun becomes a Red Giant and engulfs the inner solar system.

What makes you think that? Neo-Malthusianism?

What?

Examination of current climate and population trends and the global response to said trends.

It's not surprising if general social decay is happening at the same time as we become more and more populated. I know that is ironic because I am not anti-natalist.

What exactly do you consider "social decay"?

I would be a bit bothered. Got lots of tv shows and manga I'm looking forward to. But I believe humanity and the Earth will soldier on, regardless of how utterly ruined the world is because of us. While the Earth's been through some worse shit honestly, what does actually bother me is a rise in dystopian societies. That would suck.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see a near-future where it's all cyberpunk-y and inequality-stricken-y.

If the world ended, I wouldn't mind at all. Have life on Earth start fresh or recover, maybe not repeat the same mistakes from the past 150,000 years.

You better bet that I DO very much mind if humanity ends, since there's simply too many exciting things to look forward to, which we could all potentially benefit from, but it's no use if parts of the world are suffering from war and/or oppression. Common sense would be to unite and use our potential to make the world a better place for all.

Unfortunately, many people in positions of power aren't tapping into this potential, because they're more concerned with staying in power by fighting wars and slowly stripping away our rights every day. I therefore hope people will strongly resist negative changes (think about Hong Kong). It legitimately scares me how only very few people realize that liberty and democracy are slowly dying worldwide.

You only need enough ammunition to shoot the guy who stockpiled a much larger amount of ammunition.

Boy, is that ever a gamble I don't want to take. Prey on the weak, not the Wasteland Rambos.

Yes because I'm not suicidal.

If I die and all the people I care about die then no not really. Morally I do but I don't worry about it on an emotional level.
