It even depends on what specific things or parts of the world you are looking at. Sure looks like the west is still on course AFAIK to implode on itself but that doesn't mean stuff about outside the west, who in fact might be starting to thrive more or at least may be showing signs of possible change.

I'm saying if the current dominant socio-political thinking mode continues on trajectory, best case scenario is our countries fall under complete communist or totalitarian rule, worst case an actual nuclear war or an EMP from somewhere ran by a nutty bastard, especially to America.

Even with possible survival skill in those kind of situations, 90-95% of humanity will have to die at the benefit of only 5-10% of those left who can continue on trying to figure out how to live or even thrive by the standards of those hundreds of years before. The chances are almost certain the 90-95% includes those like you and me.
