What a great day for the people of Northern Ireland, who will -- in future -- have the same rights as their counterparts in the rest of the United Kingdom.

Unfortunately, it sometimes comes down to a choice: the much disputed right of the insensate cells (generally 10 weeks gestation or less), or the rights of the fully-conscious women (as guaranteed to her as a citizen of the United Kingdom) whose body the foetus is occupying, and blood and organs it's using. It's unfortunate that there sometimes has to be a choice but, if it comes to choosing between the health, life, mental wellbeing, emotional wellbeing and continued financial security of the fully-conscious woman or the continued existence of the insensate cells, I choose the woman.

It's not "fuck the unborn" (which does not have personhood in the UK), but rather choosing not to say, "fuck the woman and her rights as a born person".

Well Boris had a vote, he should accept it and move on.

You have no idea what you are talking about. He never got a vote in parliament on his deal with the EU on Saturday, it was withheld.

The Letwin Ammendment on Saturday meant Parliament chose to withhold to vote on Boris's deal with the EU until the legal framework - the withdrawal bill - implementing Brexit has been passed. The amendment was put in place in response to fears that MP's could support Boris's deal with the EU, but the framework would fail. This would mean the government met it's obligations as the Benn act in getting a deal agreed with EU and parliament, but we would crash out with no-deal because we would have no obligation to ask for an extension if the legal framework wasn't put in place.

It's why Boris had to send the letter asking for an extension. But the EU hasn't responded yet, they are waiting to see if it can be implemented, which Boris said it can still be done in his second (signed) letter.

This 110 page document Vass linked to earlier is that withdrawal bill. In short Boris is doing exactly what parliament asked so he can get his actual vote.

A gas is vapourous and insubstantial and largely empty of anything interesting, your arguments sure have a lot in common. All you have is a poorly delivered dribble of venom.

And greed is probably right. Plenty of MP's who voted for Letwins ammendment have come out and said they will support the deal once the framework is in place. The maths were in favour before the weekend, and there isn't evidence they've shifted since.

If the framework can stand the various ammendments that are certainly going to come it's way is another matter. We'll probably see attempts to have a referendum tacked on, probably some form of delay to bring about a review.

I'm torn on the abortion issue and I think it's allowed a bit later than I'm comfortable with. No abortion at all isn't really a sustainable position and I suspect the DUP are the sort who care loads about children until they're born and then have no problem with them struggling in poverty, so they can go fuck in a generally offward direction until they come to some sort of cliff edge covered in barbed wire and iron spiders with buzzsaw feet.

Wouldn't surprise me at this point if GVH opposed abortion mainly to maximise the potential number of participants for a real life Hunger Games. The man, the meme, us lowly peons can't grasp his beautiful vision.

So looks like the government is committed to the Election idea and presumably expects to lose tonight.
