A man has been charged after fireworks disrupted the two-minute silence at a Remembrance Sunday event.

Fireworks exploded above the cenotaph in Eccles, Salford, as hundreds of people stood in silence at 11:00 GMT and listened to the Last Post.

They were set off from a window ledge of a nearby disused pub, angering some people paying tribute at the service.

Stuart Potts, 38, is due at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court accused of firing fireworks in a public place.

Mr Potts, of Borough Road, Salford is also charged with a public order offence.

Angry veterans had tried to break down the pub door and climb up to the window when the fireworks were let off.

Carrying on with left wing traditions, Labour will replace Permanent Secretaries with political commissars.

It follows a similar exercise carried out under the Tory-Lib Dem coalition in 2012 after ministers complained about being frustrated by the slow workings of the government machine. Results of that £50,000 exercise disappeared into Sir Humphrey’s shredder.

The important question though: Where is Lord Buckethead standing?

When His Lordship chooses to stand, he always stands against the sitting Prime Minister.

Thatcher, Major, and May have all been opposed by His Lordship.

It therefore stands to reason that would likely stand in Uxbridge and South Ruislip if he chooses to stand in 2019.

Sadly, I can't see him on any list of Uxbridge candidates - though the Give Me Back Elmo Party are standing.

Ah well, best of luck to him then should His Lordship choose to stand versus Boris "The Hulk" Johnson.

Is there any difference between the Lib Dems and the Brexit party at this point? Both exclusively attack Labour while enabling the Tories, both hate workers and the environment, both are trying their best to deliver a hard brexit. Supposedly the veterans were starting to break the door down and also climbing up to the window to drag him out. If the police hadn't been there then I have no doubt the guy would have got seriously roughed up by the veterans seething with righteous indignation.
