I do wonder how they are going to equate their supposedly fanatical enviromentalism with flying back and forth over the atlantic.

But then i wondered how they would equate their fanatical enviromentalism with chartering private flights to hold meetings with other private flying celebs and google execs in Sicily.

Maybe I'm just too poor to understand the agonising plight of these poor unfortunate souls.

I can't claim to know what their reasoning is, nor do I really care, but them flying about in private jets doesn't really make much difference to the environment. Individual level lifestyle choices aren't behind climate change.

A few million though, and it will start mattering a bit.

That's not really the same. Relegated teams can get promoted back to the Premier League.

man looking at that makes me sad. i would have been the fuck out of here by now if i started running as soon as the referendum result came in.

netherlands, germany or czech republic probably. maybe japan or peru if i decide to shoot wide. but in the short term the most important thing is getting back into the EU, so i'm even considering fucking ireland of all places. basically i want to be in a position where i am desirable enough that i can move to most countries in a relatively short period of time and regain the EU citizenship which was stolen from me. that way i can feel good about being not being separated from europe and if whatever host country i am tries some UK level bullshit on me in the future i can just leave.

The problem with the term “sunk cost fallacy” is it makes some people assume sunk cost is a fallacious term in general.

And taking sunk costs into about is important.

If you spent 100 million in sunk costs on something, that does not work properly, and fixing it would cost and additional 100 million (option A) while devolving a whole new system only 75 million, (option B)
saying it is better to do the fixing (option A) because otherwise you “waste” the 100 million already spent is the sunk cost fallacy.

However if building a whole new system costs 150 million it is better to go with the upgrade be a you actually save 50 million.
In that case going with 200 million dollar system is actually better than the 150 million one, because going with the 150 million plus eating the 100 million sunk cost means you are actually spending 250 million.

In that cases it is NOT a fallacy to say it is better to go with fixing the system or you waste the sunk cost.

It will be interesting to see how easy a ride the Brexit Bill gets in the House of Lords. The Consevative peers haven't been purged of remainers like the MPs have. I think we can expect lots of attempts to amend it in ways the government will not like.
