Some 30ish miles, I think. Big long boi. And one does wonder how it would impact ships leaving Belfast.

So in the end, Lewis does not appear to have endorsed anyone after he dropped out, Kate Osamor didn't endorse anyone. Dawn Butler endorsed Thornberry, McDonald and Trickett endorsed RLB. Of the 13 we do know about who are MP's and can endorse, 10 of them are endorsing RLB, 1 is endorsing Thornberry, and 2 abstained.Hirota wrote:Didn't say there was. But then Occams Razor comes into play, along with an ounce of common sense. But I wonder how many MP's are still about from the lot who endrosed Corbyns leadership push in 2016.If it's just these ones left then that is a pattern, if there are 30, 40 or beyond...sure, it's probably conjecture. But a lot of those names are certainly in the "inner circle" of Corbynism, so it makes sense they'd vote for one of their own.
Ah, there were 18 MP's who endorsed Corbyn in 2016. Of those:
3 are standing themselves (RLB, Thornberry and Lewis - the last two will probably both pull out with how they are doing) therefore could not endorse RLB at this time
9 are endorsing RLB - Imran Hussain, Graham Morris and Ian Mearns are not marked as red on the Guido sheet, but did endorse according to wikipedia....but see the note about Kate "Osbourne"
3 are no longer MP's (Ronnie Campbell, Stephen Hepburn, Dennis Skinner)
3 MP's (Dawn Butler, Andy McDonald, and Jon Trickett) do not appear to have yet endorsed.
Some confusion over guidos claims Kate Osborne endorsed Corbs in 2016 when wikipedia says Kate Osamor did. Kate Osbourne was only elected in 2019, so it was impossible for her as an MP to endorse corbs in 2016.
So (ignoring whichever Kate it is), of the 11 we do know about who are still MP's and can endorse, 8 of them are endorsing RLB, and 3 have not yet committed. Thats close to three quarters. If that isn't correlation I don't know what is.
And I expect that number to increase rather than decrease as Thornberry and Lewis drop out of the race.

Don't worry. The main architect, Enric Miralles, is dead.

One other pause for thought is that being in the north-east Atlantic means we often have exceptionally windy weather. Considering the number of times high sided vehicles are banned from certain bridges, or the bridges closed altogether, how often would it really be viable for trading goods? Or is this bridge going to be built around ethical issues, whereby wind-turbines all along its length will power high speed rail tracks as there will be no cars on it at all????

I mean, will it even be a road bridge, or will it be rail? Over water, or under?
