A handful of generals do not maintain the system alone.

In the end a Bismarckian system is more stable.

Are you really so fanatic in your views that you would rather a high risk system over a little bit of welfare?

I might be a dirty Bismarckian centrist, but views like those you express make me want to be a Posadist. They do not help your cause.

It is easier to keep people in line by simply being less caustic and abrasive in your views.

But I think this is off topic. Why Purgatio’s cyberpunk dystopia sucks is not really UK politics.

I'm not even opposed to hierarchy or class hierarchy. Merely this current system of determining it.

Preferably, any class hierarchy should be determined largely by inheritance. That's the fairest system out there.
Purgatio is an absolutist hereditary monarchy run as a one-party fascist dictatorship, which seized power in a sudden and abrupt coup d'état of 1987-1988, on an authoritarian eugenic and socially Darwinistic political philosophy and ideology, now ruled and dominated with a brutal iron fist under the watchful reign of Le Grand Roi Chalon-Arlay de la Fayette and La Grande Reine Geneviève de la Fayette (née Aumont) (i.e., the 'Founding Couple' or Le Couple Fondateur).

For a domestic Purgation 'propagandist' view of its role in the world, see: An Introduction to Purgatio.

And for a more 'objective' international perspective on Purgatio's history, culture, and politics, see: A Brief Overview of the History, Politics, and Culture of Le Royaume du Nettoyage de la Purgatio.

Why should society tolerate this if it is not to the benefit of the vast majority of its members?

There is an out of control trolley speeding towards Jeremy Bentham, who is tied to the track. You can pull the lever to cause the trolley to switch tracks, but on the other track is Immanuel Kant. Bentham is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Critique of Pure Reason. Kant is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Principles of Moral Legislation. Both men are shouting at you that they have recently started to reconsider their ethical stances.

Because fundamental human rights matters, and individual autonomy and self-determination would not be possible without the rule of law and protection for secure, stable, and safe property rights that endure, all people's ability to earn money and buy things would be imperilled without that basic guarantee, including the middle-class's ability to do so

True that. Actively wanting to remove systems in place when removing said systems would result in a huge amount of suffering and huge numbers of easily preventable deaths does tend to rub people the wrong way. :lol2:

Human rights are a social contract which society can amend if they decide they aren't beneficial or desirable. You can have private property without private ownership of the means of production.
