Nonsense. Lib Dems only lost a single seat, and gained vote share. I wouldn't call that "decimated and annihilated", what a load of shite.

That implies stasis rather than actively going backwards.

'Counterincentive' would likely be a better antonym under the current circumstances.

If by ‘decimated’ you mean ‘got a majority of the vote’, then sure.

No you didn't, and pretending you did just reflects on you and how silly you are.

But please, do keep demonstrating that big brain of yours. How many (non-imaginary) people are in your little independence club?

I see lessons are not being learnt and silly justifications are being doubled down. Great job. I'm sure Labour will get back in power soon with that kind of big brain thinking.

I don't think the "remain" establishment was expecting anything other than a backlash. They knew exactly what was on the cards once they started backtracking during this campaign. But it wasn't good enough. For all the snotty elitist proclamations from that the working class are "too stupid" to understand the vote, they were smart enough to see through the hastily made promises of totally paying attention to the democratic will of the people the second time around. Of course the working class didn't believe Corbynistas and Swinsonites and Tiggers - they've been insulting their core electorate since 2017 in the interests of the chittering twatterati and celebrity idiots, and now it's come home to roost.

Arlene Foster said the DUP's losses this election are because of a "Pan Nationalist Front" after the SDLP decided to step down in North Belfast to boost SInn Fein

*cough* using loyalist paramilitaries to threaten the UUP out of North Belfast after trying for ages to get a unionist pact *cough*

Also local cunt Jamie Bryson had a catastrophic meltdown on twitter over "Nationalist MP" Stephen Farry of Alliance won North Down.

You reap what you sow, be a bunch of cunts and you lose votes Arlene because moderate unionists dont want your shit, hope it happens again next election and that this also transfers to Assembly and Local elections.

The party needs to be deCorbynised from top to bottom, as any effort to preserve that current way of thinking will utterly destroy the party in the long term.

The fact that there are sentient adults still trying to argue that Labour was a pro-Remain party in this election, in direct contradiction of the Labour party's own commitment to negotiate its own Leave deal and then hold a second confirmatory referendum on that deal, and that the result therefore proves that a slim majority of voters voted for pro-Remain parties... I can't even begin to...

I'm going to log off for a while in case this leads me to do or say something incompatible with my status as a site moderator.

The anger over the result clearly isn't going away. I need some down time.

I mean, Labour did dither for a long time over whether they were pro-Remain or not, but they made it abundantly clear before the election that they were not; so there really is no excuse to consider them a pro-Remain party.

Looks to me like the pro-Remain parties gained vote share. LD +4.2, SNP +0.8, Green +1.1, SF -0.2, PC +0.0, Alliance +0.2, total +6.1%. Compared to the Pro-leave side's +1.4%.

With Corbyn "neutral" on the subject, negotiating Labour's supposedly-to-be-superior deal would presumably have been left in the hands of McDonnell, Sharmer, and Thornberry... all of whom were pro-Remain.
The most likely product of that process would therefore have been a deal that was 'Brexit in name only'.
And then, according to announcements already made by senior Labour members, the franchise for the new referendum would have been extended to include both [16 & 17]-year-olds (whom it was widely thought would be more likely to vote 'Remain' than 'Leave') and those nationals of all [other] EU countries* who are resident here (ditto): They might not have been openly proclaiming themselves as a pro-Remain party but it was therefore fairly obvious that giving them responsibility for carrying out Brexit would have led to a situation weighted strongly in favour of a 'Remain' result...

(* in addition to the ones who already have full voting rights here as a legacy from when their homelands were in the Empire...)
