Anyone angry at English nationalism should maybe stop and think that maybe once the UK decided to become a federal country it shouldn't half ass it and deny England (or at least the various regions of England) some form of autonomy. Take it from someone that lives in a federation (crypto-confederation but that's neither here nor there) that kind of resentment is eeeeeassssy to build up and unless it's addressed it will generally lash out without a care in the world. Trying to be a federal state while not being one is a recipe for disaster.

No. There was one referendum held in 2004 in either NE England or NW England, one of those two. That was rejected. But that was also in 2004 and as far as I know the only referendum on the matter. When I was living in the UK 2012-2016 English devolution of some sort was something supported by the majority. It was pretty obvious as well in places outside the major cities. Devolution for England should have been something implemented last decade.

Well I feel relief more than anything I think. For the first time I think Brexit will get over the line, I've not thought that before.

People cutting about in bdsm gear in a large city when children are out and about, not to mention overt phallic props and symbols. Just no. No.

I witnessed a few Pride Parades in Oxford the years I was there, and I gotta say, I don't recall the BDSM gear and the phallic props. I just remember rainbow flags and people marching. Did I miss something?
