the real problem with european immigration is that there are thousands of eastern europeans coming over here that would do it for a freddo. how are english workers supposed to compete with this race to the bottom?
ask moderation about reading serious moderation candidates TGs without telling them about it until afterwards and/or apparently refusing to confirm/deny the exact timeline of TG reading ~~~ i hope you never sent any of the recent mods or the ones that got really close anything personal!

signature edit: confirmation has been received. they will explicitly do it before and without asking. they can look at TGs basically whenever they want so please keep this in mind when nominating people for moderator or TGing good posters/anyone!

Freddos are 30-fucking-p now. If that isn't fixed post-Brexit I'm burning down Westminster.

There hasn't been a vote on the Boris deal. He pulled it after the amendment was approved.

There is an out of control trolley speeding towards Jeremy Bentham, who is tied to the track. You can pull the lever to cause the trolley to switch tracks, but on the other track is Immanuel Kant. Bentham is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Critique of Pure Reason. Kant is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Principles of Moral Legislation. Both men are shouting at you that they have recently started to reconsider their ethical stances.

Tommorow is a live vote for our parties candidate of assembly member and i'm trying to persuade some folk to back the momentum candidate. Our stronger candidate dropped out and now we're left with one instead of two (You get two choices). The Blairite also successfully triangulated the local strongest union by being left wing on their issue (telecoms) and blairite on other stuff.

We're going to lose, but I want a strong showing so they can't pretend the left is dead locally. Because they suddenly switched to a live in person vote taking place in a suspiciously blairite ward (overkill if you ask me, we were behind anyway) we're also making sure everyone has transport.

Our second candidate is a good woman, with good principles. But she's also a strict remainer in a brexit constituency, and an early and vocal remainer at that who hasn't budged an inch or conceded anything to the brexiteers.

She's also got this thing where she introduces herself as the mother of her boys which I assumed was some kind of folksy shtick but I've realized that's just genuinely who she is as a person. So she's got the problem of coming off as insincere politiciany and you only realize after spending time with her that nope, she just kind of is like that. Not like a lot of the hard left where they focus on policy and rhetoric, she talks a lot about her life, experiences, personality, friends and so on and you're like "Oh here we go, another empty suited neoliberal with nothing to say because they know noone likes their ideas" and then she'll just slip in some shit about how she wants to nationalize energy companies and the rich are ruining everything at least that's what I think and most of the people I speak to agree with me. I like people a lot, my hobby is people, this one time I had a garden party and-" and it's kind of jarring but I kind of like it.

It feels stupid because usually I and the other momentum folk have worked with the union here to get things done and I get on with the rep. But now he's kind of smashing it and it's like a power play kind of thing. He's demonstrating we don't matter. Which is genius to be fair, that's literally his job as a lobbyist for his union, to force us and the blairites to pander to his union.

Oh well. I'll still go drinking with him, fuck it.

Moved constituencies. Piss poor timing. People are pretty mad.

So now we're spinning this as "Let's unite the party and select one from each faction of the party" and the Blairites are just kind of grinning in response. Well, at least some are, and the rest I imagine having the same grin.
