As to gentrification that neighborhood was ruined decades ago

New York didn't "ban" Amazon, they said "we're not going to pay you millions of dollars of taxpayer money to set up shop here"

1. The state reneged on the deal they made when folks who begged amazon to come realized the socialist left of the city was against it, and reversed their postion.
2. They weren't giving amazon a dime, people who dont understand the difference between a grant and a tax break like Cortez, kept saying that. Amazon was getting a tax break based on creating the full amount of jobs and keeping them.

The West won the world not by the superiority of its ideas or values or religion … but rather by its superiority in applying organized violence. Westerners often forget this fact; non-Westerners never do.

Why should Amazon get any tax breaks? Hell, Bezos could pay all of Amazon's NYC taxes out of his own pocket and wouldn't even be any worse off for it.

Has any form of government not been corrupted by the dark tendrils of lobbying?

Even if he only had 1% of his wealth, he would still be a billionaire.

I think he could afford to share that money. Is it that hard to live off of 500 million dollars? Why have like 100 billion when you don't even know what to do with it all and other people can barely get by in the global economy the bezos of the world created

Because that’s money that needs to be spent into making Seattle his private corporate playground.

Ballot just came the other day. Hopefully other people will also go against the corporate candidates.

Also, I added a new source: https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-ne ... os-s-team/

His money is not quite a pile of cash it is more ownership of Stocks in Amazon. If he were to sell a significant portion of his shares to make a federal tax payment those shares dip in value.

The 100 billion dollars is based off of him selling very little to meet his daily expenses every day and leaving the company in a good position when he retires.

One where the governments too over/ killed all the lobbies.

By the way, Amazon’s takeover of the city has already kind of started. Amazon did the same donation thing with the current mayor back in 2017.

Reverse Citizens United and institute 100% public funding of all elections, national, state and local. Ban lobbying. Elections from equal-population districts at all levels, districts drawn by nonpartisan commissions and/or courts. Reverse Shelby County, reinstate Title IX review of elections in historically discriminatory states and localities. Eliminate the Electoral College and institute popular election of the US President.

We're not going to control the pandemic!

It is a slaughter and not just a political dispute.

Seeing as how even school board elections have been infiltrated by dark money tentacles, the answer is no.

Breaking up big tech would promote competition and would definitely be argued as a capitalist policy for doing its purpose.

I think that anti-trust capitalism is actually quite healthy, and I’d like to see more of it. I have no problem with private companies, I have a problem with big monopolies.
