ABC News apologizes for airing fake Syria bombing footage

ABC News apologized Monday after broadcasting a fake video claiming to show Turkey’s military bombing Kurdish civilians in northern Syria.
During Sunday’s “ABC World News Tonight,” host Tom Llamas played footage “appearing to show Turkey’s military bombing Kurd civilians in a Syrian border town.” In reality, the video was taken during a military gun demonstration in Kentucky and published to YouTube in 2017, Gizmodo reported.
ABC News told Mediaite in a statement Monday that the fake video was also broadcast on “Good Morning America.” The network said it had launched an investigation into how the footage made it to air.
“We’ve taken down video that aired on ‘World News Tonight Sunday’ and ‘Good Morning America’ this morning that appeared to be from the Syrian border immediately after questions were raised about its accuracy,” the network said. “ABC News regrets the error.”

The title is courtesy of a Redditor, but the more important issue is the fact that ABC news produced straight-up propaganda, and "apologized" when they got caught for doing just that. Nevermind the fact the reporter acted like a pompous ass berating the president for those sweet number of clicks they would get for this stunt later online. Honestly, I shouldn't be surprised by them doing this stuff given how polarized American society is these days. The media justified the Iraq war like it was the next big production on broadway, why wouldn't those same people do it here? Anyway, what do you all think of this nice little screw-up?
For the comparison footage.
