He and his businesses probably make less than they advertise and he doesn't want to be bullied by other billionaires. It's about his ego more than anything else.

Likely because it'll show he isn't worth as much, especially since working in the real estate industry, one can have losses and de-valuations, happens all the time. His tax returns would show that for the most part and in turn, would show that he isn't a successful business man, something he has preached forever. So, this would be a big slap to his ego and demoralize him most likely. Of course, his tax returns would also show where he has donated to charity, which reportedly, he doesn't donate as much as he claims. If you wanted to get into the criminal aspect, he could be manipulating his earnings from his properties to get a lower tax burden while also getting a better deal with the leasor, which would be financial fraud.

Well, it doesn't have to do with tax returns showing assets, because they don't. Only depreciable assets and what you make.

Do they show a detailed account of where your income comes from? Because that would show at least some assets and conflict of interest risks, right?

Probably because some of his charitable deductions are controversial.

Your W-2 form shows where your income comes from (if you work for a business). Interest, rental, dividend, discretionary, and capital gains income would be reported as a separate line item, for which you need to provide separate documentation.

Your W-2 form just basically states the name of your employer, how much they pay you, and where they are located.

I wouldn't know what they are. But it seems to be the most likely reason, as the rest of your tax return isn't really that revealing.

Uh... not really. I mean, you'll see the categories of income, but as to who paid you, no that's not in there except for interest and dividends (wages are not shown broken out on the return, only on the W-2).

Your W-2 form just basically states the name of your employer, how much they pay you, and where they are located.

Typically you don't have to really supply "documentation" in the traditional sense on capital gain income or rental income, unless requested by the IRS (which then isn't part of the return, it's part of the audit results). And I'm not sure what you mean by 'discretionary', as this term doesn't really exist with regards to income in the normal preparation of taxes.

Cash charitable deductions only show as a lump sum figure as well by default, unless there's a supplemental statement (not required) attached to it.

Noncash charitable contributions have to be detailed.

For capital gains I attached a trade settlement form (basically all the stocks I sold that year, what I had paid for them, and including commissions).

By discretionary income, I'm referring to more "one-off" sources of funds, such as finders fees, or money from things like camwhoring lol. You still need to report it.

You could do that, but it's not actually required (unless taxes were withheld, which is not typical).

Ah, so you mean "other income", which also doesn't really require documentation unless requested.

In minor Trump news, Donald Trump had a sudden hospital visit.

My guess is, his amazing diet of McDonald's and healthy exercise regimen of riding around in a golf cart are catching up to him.

I'm sure he'll make this about the Democrats somehow. The impeachment inquiries are just a big ploy to give him a heart attack or something. smh.

I've been following this, without watching the video because...because...the story is that he went in for his regular exam early because he anticipated a busy 2020...which is silly. But since he's been up and and about since then I didn't post about it because the whole "Biden sneezed, is he unfit for office!?" bit bugged me and because I didn't want to spend four pages watching everyone do the 100 meter pearl clutch about wishing illness on a political opponent/armchair diagnosing etc.

That's quite fair :P

I mean, it's still hilarious he thinks he's some kind of health magnate, considering he barely does anything in office beyond sit around watching FOX News, play golf, and eat McDonald's, I'm sure he'll be fiiiiine.

... Taking bets on him blaming the Democrats for his ill health though  It's 3:1 right now.

Letter said people connected to the investigation have already been convicted of lying to Congress about issues related to what Mueller was investigating. So, he said, it’s far from a stretch for Congress to investigate whether Trump lied.

“There is evidence, very sadly, that the president might have provided untruthful answers. This, therefore, is obviously a key part of a possible impeachment inquiry.”

That evidence being anytime Trump opens his mouth.

My bet is he'd go full FDR and hide any problems he has until he can't.

In that case just like any other US President or world leader and I mean politically, which in this case President Trump does not have and is being accused of anything the Democrats and Democratic Presidential candidates can think of against him to weaken him politically, including his health. Their are many similar ways to say it.

Funny how many leftist Democrats defend and excuse Joe Biden's constant gaffes, for their political reasons and support of Joe Biden, than complain and or make fun of President Trump's health. President Trump does his job as President of America - The USA, those who criticize him or make fun of him are just against him politically, lets not deny it.
I once tried to K Me. Posted It and Reported. Locked by Mods. I am Autistic accounts for Repetitive Nature. I am Very Civil and Respectful to all on NS and off NS. My Opinions Are Not Bad Opinions No Ones Opinions Are Bad Opinons. We are on NS, to share, discuss, argue, disagree, on Trump, elections, Republicans, Democrats, Socialists, Libertarians and whatevers, with respect. This Respect Is Given It Is Not Earned, This Respect Is Called Freedom of Expression and Democracy. This Man Always Says What He Means, I Am The Real Thing. I Make Ted Cruz look like a Leftist. I have been on NS For over 10 Years with a Perfect Record of No Baiting, Trolling, Flaming, or Using Foul Language. I Am Very Proud of It and Wish To Keep My Record Clean. But I Am Not The Only One On NS. GMS. I'm Based.

Yeaaaah... I don't know many leftists who are making excuses for Biden. As to your last point about Trump, we're against him because he's a buffoonish career conman who is throwing kids in cages and destroying America's soft power internationally, amongst other things.

America's soft power is a source of global misery (how many Libyans and Iraqis are dead because of it?) so I'm glad it's being ruined.
