We at least should be done here. If you start a thread on it I might chime in later, but not tonight

Would rather have him then Trump at the very least.

You know how we can solve the state oppressing people to do jury duty? Offer pints. Would make for interesting court cases.
I freelance and kind of dig my job (despite me putting off doing it right now...)jThough I probably could still maintain and jury an interesting trial. I'll try not to lose my summons this time. Apparently if you don't remember all that shit you can't get back into the portal.

I am certain the Republicans and his supporters will be just as outraged at this as they were at Kaepernick, and demand he be fired for such blatant disrespect for the troops.

Pfffft. That was just the bone spurs acting up.
It's the Cult of Trump. He could do everything they bitched about Kaepernick and Obama supposedly doing during the Anthem on video and they'd contort into human Twizzlers trying to come up with an apologistic excuse for him.

Trump can do no wrong. I am convinced at this point he's likely getting reelection unless there is a recession.

They didn’t embrace him. He owns them. They are in his hand. He squeezes and they squeal.
That’s one thing that is actually impressive. I can’t think of another President in my life time who owns his party to that extent....

If by 'better for them' you mean better for the Democrats. Then yes. The Republicans needed to change. They did.
The fact that Democrats see this as cultishness will always confuse me.
