Some did, and sure there will always be some die hard muppets who remain blind to what is a clear breach of using US policy for personal gain. However I think he's simply breaking any lines of what's defensible. He'll almost certainly be impeached in the House and who knows what will still come out.

However the greatest threat to Trump is himself, he seems unable to not compound his guilt. I mean.. just days after the Mueller testimony about using foreign aid for personal gain he goes and does it again immediately.

Trump says his beautiful wall is in the works in Colorado

"Do you know why we're going to win New Mexico?" he said during the Shale Insight Conference in Pittsburgh. "Because they want safety on their border, and they didn't have it. And we're building a wall on the border of New Mexico and we're building a wall in Colorado. We're building a beautiful wall, a big one that really works, that you can't get over, you can't get under. And we're building a wall in Texas. And we're not building a wall in Kansas, but they get the benefit of the walls we just mentioned."

Since his campaign days, Trump has promised to build a wall along the southern border with Mexico. Colorado, however, is well north of Mexico, something children in the state are well aware of, Gov. Jared Polis (D) tweeted. "Well this is awkward," he said. "Colorado doesn't border Mexico. Good thing Colorado now offers free full day kindergarten so our kids can learn basic geography."

You seem to be naive about protest as well, there are already a good number of loons who’ve quit their jobs to sit and protest for Trump’s removal in DC. There’s even a homeless hippie who sits outside the WH and has been there since 2016, that’s done so much to bring Trump down amirite?

trump is a special threat
playing by the rules when your trump doesn't care about them and has the government to back him up is going to cause grief
as such, a suspension of the usually operational laws and mores of a functioning democracy is needed to purge his threat

What makes you think Trump is the first or will be the last to be hamstrung by such an institution? It's not a good thing in the slightest bit.

Hey man. It’s just Trump being Trump.

Now the question. How many people who flamed Obama for say 57 states are giving Donnie a pass?

that way lies further escalation of authoritarian tendencies in government

All of them. They use “57 states“ as a defense against any Trump gaffe.

In short, "fascist" is a modern word for "heretic," branding an individual worthy of excommunication from the body politic. The right uses otherwords ("reverse-racist," "feminazi," "unamerican," "communist") for similiar purposes, but these words have less elastic meanings. Fascism, however, is the gift that keeps on giving. - Jonah Goldberg, revisited.

Trumpers are fascinating. I have hard core moron trumpers in the family. The Kurd issue came up and I pointed out notice Donnie only mentions other leaders and the Kurd command which I think is a lie. No American commanders are mentioned.

Basic response is they support Donnie.

That's best used when the anecdote is absurd.

This is fairly plausible.

"One does not need to be surprised then, when 26 years later the outrageous slogan is repeated, which we Marxists burned all bridges with: to “pick up” the banner of the bourgeoisie. - International Communist Party, Dialogue with Stalin.

ML, anarchism, co-operativism (known incorrectly as "Market Socialism"), Proudhonism, radical liberalism, utopianism, social democracy, national capitalism, Maoism, etc. are not communist tendencies. Read a book already.

Anecdotes repeated from several sources are not so easily dismissed.

Fact remains. Trumpers don’t seem to question; They accept what is told to them. The catch all response when hit with fact checkers? Fake news.

My dad, ironically, has followed a completely different trajectory. Even when I was four or five years old, he'd invite me to sit on the couch and watch Fox News with him and point out who the "pinheads" were and who the "patriots" were. He loved Bill O'Reilly and Jesse Watters.

After the 2016 election, where he enthusiastically rooted for Trump, his life changed to the point where he went left. Once he lost a decent job and dealt with some hardship, he began to shift after three decades of being a die-hard Republican, I mean die-hard Republican.

Now that he's figured his shit out and has come out of the other side of job insecurity and financial insecurity, he changed his registration from Republican to Democrat. He intends to vote for Bernie Sanders in the upcoming primaries. Never would've expected this. He shoots me phone calls every so often to discuss this seismic shift in his beliefs, asking about various left candidates. It's surreal.
