First this, next we'll establish zionism as a key pillar of socialism. The UK Labour party will implode! :D

The irony is that Israel itself was pretty leftwing during the first few decades of its existence, with the Mapai/Mapam parties consistently winning every elections they contested up until 1977 when Menachem Begin ushered in a new era of rightwing rule.

I'm not going to refute your point with a Tu quoque and you do have a good one that I agree with, but I'm not going to lie, it is ironic for you to complain about suppressing opposition.

I’m a fascist myself, I’m saying a group that claims to fight for freedom supports regimes that suppress freedom

I thought the Assad regime were critical of both sides- Turkey for crossing its boarders and Rojava for splitting up the country. It makes you wonder what the price was for this alliance.

This is why Assad is a great leader in the eyes of a fascist nihilist. He puts country first, no matter the internal squabbles with others of his country

It nevertheless wouldn't suprise me if things would go that way. Erdogan is putting a lot in as a bet. He could also just dump the three million refugees into Europe. He got the sanctions already now anyway.

Czechoslovakia and Zakarpatia wrote:"Islamist goons" in this case basically means any politician affiliated with the AKP, MHP, or the cabinet of Erdogan.

Which is literally what we were doing prior to 2003, but let's go on.

Czechoslovakia and Zakarpatia wrote:As for how I would initiate the democratization of Turkey, I would have rescinded all of the draconian laws, restrictions and decrees Erdogan enacted to strengthen his power

Many of those laws you mention existed prior to Erdoğan. Erdoğan himself oversaw the dismantling of a great number of them. He is now overseeing the implementation of new, admittedly less draconian ones.

Czechoslovakia and Zakarpatia wrote:(Such as the latest 2018 "anti-terror" law which de-facto perpetuates the state of emergency or the amendments approved in the 2017 referendum that transformed Turkey into a presidential republic), release all political prisoners and journalists who were persecuted by Erdogan's regime (Including Selahattin Demirtas), abort the offensive in Syria and halt all aid towards the FSA, and hold a emergency snap election with all parties and candidates allowed to campaign unmolested and to their fullest extent in order to transition towards a duly-elected civilian government.

Every party aside from the HDP is allowed to campaign unmolested and to their fullest extent.

See, this is what you fail to grasp about Turkey. Turkey isn't a full-on dictatorship - and the numerous problems with trying to set up an idealised, rosy democracy from the outside notwithstanding: You'd think Iraq would be a great democracy right now if your ideas worked in practice - it's what is known as a "competitive authoritarian" country. Face the bloody music that the AKP wins elections in this country. It's not Erdoğan subverting the vote, it's not Erdoğan stealing votes, it's people voting for him and the AKP. Literally none of the evident irregularities in the ballots are enough to sway the results of elections. People. Vote. Erdoğan.

The AKP has nine million members. This is the number after they lost a significant chunk of their membership. Do you think that came from nowhere, just out of the thin air, solely to disappear once you stuff all the AKP and MHP ministers away? Good grief. Or do you by chance have some template ready to copy and paste with the relevant fields left blank when they ask you how you intend to democratise a country?

According to the live map, the SDF was able to successfully regain total control over Ras al-Ain despite the Turkish military making incursions into the town earlier this week.

#Syrian army heading towards #Raqqa oil fields.

Seems like they're near Raqqa. Or even already past it. That's a major gain for them. More oil supplies plus a better airforce location.

Nevertheless. Erdogan got what he wanted in one way. The SDF/YPG/Rojava is done for. No more (justified or not/theoretical or realistic) PKK threat.

Kurdish-led administration in northern Syria agrees to let Syrian army deploy along the entire length of the border with Turkey to help repel the Turkish offensive

https://syria.liveuamap.com/en/2019/13- ... ria-agrees

There goes Erdogan's narrative for a ''buffer zone against PKK influences''.

This. It's not helping SDF. It's outright absorbing them into the SAA.

It's not about who'se good, or who's bad. It's about what is happening.

You have to be disillusioned if you think the SDF has the upper hand in this.
