I've got bits of Ladino and Mexican Spanish, but I'm not certain how different the accents are. I know Ladino has a lot of similarities to medieval Castilian, albeit transliteration is usually a hassle and it has lots of loanwords from Hebrew and Aramaic. I really need to start speaking Spanish better. And writing it. I can understand my momma's family when they speak and I can read articles, but I struggle with a lot of things that I really shouldn't.

Yes they are. One deals with sexuality while the other deals with gender. Those two are very different and mixing them up leads to the shit we got now

I think the association probably started because there's some variation in gender expression even within the gay community (drag queens or just kinda femme men for example, butch vs. femme lesbians, etc.), and face persecution along some of the same lines (religious authorities saying we're unnatural and making a choice, corrupting society, etc.), I wouldn't necessarily say it's a bad thing that the two get associated and it's certainly not something that's totally random and dissociated and ridiculous

Parades in general are eyesores. They disrupt the right and proper flow of daily life, and disturb the peace in some notorious instances, and tend to be excruciatingly gaudy. Pride Parades, Thanksgiving Day Parades, we ought to ban parades for the greater good, or at least ensure that they all remain dignified affairs.

You know, a part of me always thinks a single-party state along these lines wouldn't be a bad idea... but then I remember that the odds are pretty good that I'd end up being in the 90%, which would not be a fun experience.

At least in a democracy there's some sort of responsiveness, even if it comes with associated vulnerabilities. Single-party states just trade one set of problems for another.

Indeed, but I'd also argue the things he wants to do are arguably worse than my ideas. His idea of a single world under a single system could only really work if you destroyed every culture that did not fit well into such a system.
