They very much do not. The Zulu tribe existed before Shaka. If he had died as a child, it would have continued to exist. Zululand would not have ceased to exist if it had not expanded.

This might be the wrong thread for that topic, but I nevertheless wrote a review of it:

"Joker" is the heartwarming and wholesome tale of a man and the society he lives in. Memes aside, I found this film to be easily among the best of 2019, and is currently tied with “John Wick III” as the best film of the year (that I’ve seen). Joaquin Phoenix’s performance was top-notch, and breathed new life into a character killed by Jared Leto. The portrayal of Gotham City was superb, truly capturing the grim darkness of a metropolis blighted by unemployment, crime, and financial ruin. The film clearly takes inspiration from films like Taxi Driver and such, and while some critics have derided this because they supposedly want “oRiGiNaLiTy”, I’d argue that if this film weren’t a comic book adaptation, they’d be praising it. All in all, a definite recommend. 9/10 stars, in my mind.

Why would an alt-history Zululand become one of the few winners instead of the many vanished losers, if it didn't have Shaka kaSenzangakhona? Statistically, it is most probable the Zulu would have disappeared before ever encountering the British Empire.

Look, it's a simple matter of numbers: Sapiens had more. And if both subspecies are living in the same area, and populations interbreed, then the smaller group is going to be subsumed by the larger one with or without conflict. Was there conflict? Probably. But pointing to this as an example of "murderers" being "100% successful" is all kinds of dumb. It's entirely you projecting your ideals onto Neanderthals. And based on nothing factual.

And it's especially stupid when there are better examples in recorded history, that have for-sure happened.
