Nothing wrong with being to break off from those who corrupt the faith and preach falsities and practice blasphemy, like the catholics Pope who said gays go to heaven. And I dont give two licks about the Orthodox church, every single orthodox country is full of drunks and lazy people. They call it protestant work ethic for a reason, just look at the countries who practice it, orthodoxy dont teach any valuable lessons.

It is true that if we go by church attendance rates, the most Christian major countries in Europe are Poland, Ireland, and Slovakia.

I think my favorite conspiracy theory is that the holocaust was so successful that the Germans effectively wiped out any jews in their camps. As such anyone who left claiming to be a jew is an imposter.

It's funny you mention Cambodia since yesterday offsite I was talking to UMN and others about how the Cambodian People's Party is the shrewdest modern political party and Hun Sen is possibly the shrewdest politician alive. It says something when they can do a full 180 and maintain a firm grip on power, going from atheist ML's to monarchist, capitalist, and pro-religion. And for Hun Sen to go from Khmer Rouge commander to monarchist strongman is just lmao.

Soviet citizens could still belong to religion albeit churches suffered from discrimination and repression whenever they started to become popular. The Khmer Rouge actively tried to destroy religion in the bloodiest way possible, destroying practically all temples and statues with monks either killed, disrobed, or forced to become slave laborers in fields (which was seen as a major violation of the vinaya). Near the end, there were only 3,000 Khmer monks still alive around the world.

That's actually the best thing about Protestantism. It works a lot better than a centralized hierarchy among churches.

I mean, I suppose if you dislike Christianity, then you would think churches being divided and bickering among themselves is a good thing. I don't see why any Christian would think that was good, though.

I wouldn't say the post-soviet government is very sincere when it comes to Orthodoxy.
