It's already illegal to carry a knife with a fixed blade, or a folding blade with a locking system, on your person in France, unless for a good reason, and the authorities can designate any knife a prohibited weapon and confiscate it.

Neither do I. Where I live, religion was mostly driven out from the public sphere after centuries of anti-clericalism. In practice, it means that religious outfits are shunned upon, especially those seen as retrograde towards women (veils and burqas). When a country welcomes you, the least you can do is respect its customs and taboos.

Supporting women's rights and gay people does not mean you gotta look at a Muslim guy and want his ass dead. It's kinda like love the religious person, hate the religion.
