I do. I know damn well not everyone does. I would even go so far as to say the majority don't.

Because when you start cutting lawbreakers out of your life in order to get ahead you tend to end up alone.

People are constantly doing drugs, Dodging their taxes, or any number of other things.

Not if everyone is armed.

So it's forcing people to be armed against their will, eh? Very freedom.

Well. I mean. They could also either.

A.) Be defenseless.
B.) Hire people to use guns FOR them.

Forcing people to be armed and encouraging the use of firearms as the immediate solution to disputes. Very Needful Things of you.

I mean. Having police is just that with extra steps.

Might as well cut out the middle man.

No need for a polite society when all you need is to shoot everyone else first.

No it’s not. It is removing any possibility for regulation of those who “enforce” the law and letting anyone with a gun do whatever they want. So yeah pretty bad idea.

How are unpaid normal folks categorically less regulatable than paid cops?

Several ways. There is the fact that law enforcement is not their job and thus they cannot be fired. Also they can’t be arrested since in this fever dream the cops are not here.

If we get rid of knives, these attacks won't happen. Heavily regulate them so that only chefs can wield knives.

Not imo. If you catch any group of people off-guard enough, you'll always be able to be fairly effective. That's why I don't think these mass killings where people aren't concerned with their own safety can possibly be stopped. If your goal is just to kill as many people as possible without regard to your own survival, there's actually very little someone can do short of just straight up shooting you, and in Europe or even in confined spaces here in the US that's going to be a problem. Imo, that a police station was unprepared for this kind of attack is just confirmation of what historical accounts of battlefield actions confirm: that assailants unconcerned with their own life are shockingly effective at inflicting casualties on even well-prepared people.

Six pages in this topic, yet this little fact seems to have escaped people? Somehow I doubt this is a knife problem.
