Depends how much I had. If we go with the OP's number I'd buy my last grandparent a house and pay for her to have a nurse/helper full time. Ah, someone noticed. This is where the farm and ranch hands come from, of course. Cultivating (no pun intended) a love for husbandry and encouraging people give it a go to own their own farms and ranches one day. It is hard but rewarding work that is not for everyone, but for some it is fitting. Farm and ranch families (communities) tend to be sparse and look after each other. Rural culture is (for the most part) still inculcated with the American heritage/tradition of hard work, respect for others, self-reliance, and Christian virtue. We tend to want our neighhbors to succeed.

• try and paint every single van Gogh (I'm shit at painting and he was prolific, so this'd be interesting).
• set up a system to ensure I can live off interest and rent for a long time, and
• (assuming I somehow manage to not become a fuck you, got mine) fund the kinds of political parties that support land taxes, encourage useful investment and tax the wealth classes honestly....

First of all, I’d most likely set aside the vast majority of it for future use, such as university and private tutoring. After that, I would try to get into the stock market and invest my money, to maintain my wealth. With the rest, I think I’d occasionally give to charity, go on holiday abroad, help my family move to nicer places and overall improve my family’s economic status. I myself might get a nice suburban house, maybe in Edinburgh or somewhere, and get a holiday home in Japan and maybe Germany.

If the technology looks feasible, I might invest into tech that allows one to download knowledge directly to the brain, like how Neo almost instantly learnt those martial arts in The Matrix.

Well, I'm still 19 years old, and I don't work yet because I'm still studying, but if I were older and won the lottery or worked hard enough to get a very high-paying job, this is what I would do with my wealth:

Even though in all honesty I admit that I would like to build a top-of-the-line gaming PC, buy and tune a classic Toyota Supra MK4 and occasionally travel to the places I always wanted to visit (after all, it's your own money and you have the right to spend it however you like), that's really about it. Other than that I just want to be treated as an equal, treat others as equals and avoid gold diggers.

I don't need a big house with more than 4 rooms excluding the bathroom. I don't need an entire supercar collection to show off to people. I don't need something as crazy as a private jet, limousine or taxi. I don't desire any sort of fame and/or power. I just want to live a normal and frugal economical life and donate to charity where possible. The problem is that in some cases, wealth has the capability to change even some of the most compassionate of people into snobby self-centered egoists or cause other similar negative changes, and that's something I definitely despise and want to avoid.
