I have sympathy for Scotland, but they deserved to go out after such a dreadful game against Ireland.

Wales were very poor, but did enough to get the BP.

Some very tasty Quarters with a lot of back story and rivalry to each one.

Looks like a New Zealand - England final on the way. Should be a cracker.

You'll have to pick another team to face NZ in the final. As England will meet NZ in the Semi's if they both win.

I totally misread the thing on the Beeb, you're right.

New Zealand - Saffers then. Not as interesting.

It's because we can trust the seafood in Japan.

Speaking of which, imagine being Scotland, bellyaching about not getting through to the semis only to lose to Japan anyway.

That keeps my predictions steady though I think I screwed up on how semi-finals work out. I get the idea it will be England-NZ, SA.. whoever wins Wales France, which I think I predicted as France.

So even my original prediction of an SA-NZ final still holds.

I wish it was a France-NZ semi-final, if only because France seem the one team to sometimes decide to turn up and defeat NZ.

England only lost 16-15 the last time we played them. There's a chance...

It's been an odd tournament in that it hasn't been clear how teams stacked up until they actually play each other. I have read comments that this isn't necessarily the best NZ team they've had, but they did beat SA in the opening game.. but maybe SA aren't as good as they're cracked up to be. Wales remain a wild card and you never know with the French. Ireland came into the tournament ranked first and lost to Japan.

So who knows.

I don't want to speak too soon, but where's the team that has given New Zealand three straight losses in their last three encounters? Ireland don't seem to be at the game tonight because the All Blacks are up 22-0.

And that's Ireland out of the RWC, with the All Blacks securing a 46-14 victory.

Don't like this...

Can't see how we get back into the game.

Edit: or just let France ill discipline shine through.

Still going to be too close for comfort

It's just 8-3 to SA against Japan right now, half time, decent half.

Be pretty entertaining if it ends up an England v Wales final.

I suspect you'll have to settle for an exciting 3rd/4th place play off instead. And a dull one sided final as NZ brush aside SA.

NZ collectively bricking themselves right now with just over 24hrs to go before the semi-final.

Jackson said there had been no definitive studies linking poor mental health outcomes in fans if their favourite teams lose, though there was strong anecdotal evidence that more violence could occur in homes and pubs, and moods could dip for days following a significant loss.

Hopefully it will be a good game.

Well, that's New Zealand out. England simply played better and we could do absolutely nothing to stop them.

I hesitate to point you to your original post in this thread. I think it's basically all your fault.
