Great showing from them in the second half so far as well.

Tackle from Keith Earls was immense, only player who has turned up for Ireland.

Not even sure Ireland even deserved the losing BP, they were completely out-muscled and out thought by Japan. Very lucky it was only one score in it!

I think Ireland will still go through but I think they now face the winner of Pool B, which I suspect is NZ, still.. it was that or SA so..

In fact you can likely predict most of the way through now..

Ireland - NZ
Japan - SA
England or France vs Australia or Wales..

I think England - Australia and France - Wales would be best.. but I think I'd prefer to play Wales over Australia.

So..

That makes it a SA-NZ semi-final and a.. hmm..

I'll go England - France in the other semi-final.

Could be a repeat of the last WC with France - NZ in the final but here's hoping it's England.

England 26 - NZ 19 in the final.

If I'm right all must bow down to me and the gloating rule is nullified specifically for me.

Well, that was a bit of a surprise.

Anyway, you know what really pisses me off right now?
Italy is at the RWC and not only the state broadcaster fails to show any match: newspapers (even sports newspapers) relegated the Italian victories against Namibia and Canada to a remote corner of the inner pages. TV news failed to mention that there's even such a thing as the RWC.

And this right here, is why there is so much pressure to kick Italy out of the 6 nations :/

Real shame this is the case, you've improved a lot over the years and just need to keep that momentum going.

Apparently there's been quite the controversy regarding some referee decisions. However the Wallabies look like they might be a bit out of luck, with Wales ahead 23-15.

Meanwhile Georgia have secured their first and very convincing win of the tournament with a 33-7 victory over Uruguay.

Honestly thought we had blown it.

Australia very very lucky not to have had 2 sent off. Not even yellow for one of the cheapest shots I've seen since the last Australian game.

All I can say is:

France has beaten the United States 33-9 in what is a characteristic French win. France was kept scoreless for 43 minutes at for a long time the score read 12-9, however the French left it at the last minute to score three tries against the Eagles.

Now we wait to see how badly Canada loses to the All Blacks.

France are always temperamental, it's hard to tell their form. Ireland seem weaker than their form but Wales seem better than their form.

I feel Wales have a good chance to go places but won't, I'm a little resigned to NZ winning against
France or England in the final.

The current score in New Zealand versus Canada is 63-0, with the first half apparently not the best start for the All Blacks.

Thoroughly uninspiring performance from Ireland, but we got the bonus point.

Italy could be losing their place atop Pool B today as they take on South Africa, though I'm oddly rooting for an Italy win as I like the idea of Italy continuing to top a Pool that includes NZ and South Africa.

South Africa are up 17-3 on Italy into the second half, you'd think they'd be doing a lot better.

Especially given the level of violence they're meting out.

EDIT: Italy down to 14 men.

Italy have been incredibly stupid. Honestly trying hard to find a more reckless decision than that. Already won the pen, 5 m from the line having just wrestled back momentum. Very lucky they both didn't see red. That's after countless other high tackles they'd done right the way through the game and blowing good opportunities with terrible decision. Awful awful stuff from Italy.

Don't know why they called it a "horror tackle" here when it wasn't even a tackle, Vermuelen was dumped. Don't know what the hell those two were thinking when they did that but it's not on.

The All Blacks will now knock Italy off their perch at the top of Pool B after winning 71-9 against Namibia, including a late try by TJ Perenara that was probably one of the closest and one of the best I've seen.
