1. I was using Catalonia as an example of bigger issues.

2. No, it doesn't, but it doesn't mean that people need to still make quite the fuss about it 4 decades later, when the country has pretty much already recovered from their policies. (And, quite honestly, wouldn't he burn in hell (which I wouldn't wish upon anybody, according to catholic principles (or, really, Christian principles)? I think that's quite honestly more than enough punishment...)

Of course it is, but... did we need to make it... now? Now, when we have way bigger problems like the fact that we're gonna be stuck with a babysitter government that can't create the new budgets for a while (because no party's gonna get an absolute majority, and the coalitions that would get so wouldn't happen)?

EDIT: As for the timing of the decision, eh. It doesn't really annoy me, it's not like it's distracting us from all the other issues such as no government, polarization, perpetual political crisis, and economic recovery that didn't benefit 90% of the population, to name a few.

And it’s still the right step. We can still do that and also focus on the other issues (like you’ve pointed) we have like... I don’t know... like we’ve been doing so far? Not sure what the fuss is about.

They didn't, though, they just banned the killing of the animal in this specific event. The scope of the ruling is extremely limited. Even in Catalonia, which has a blanket ban on similar events, the ban has recently been flouted with minimal consequence.
