It's shockingly hard to respect the debate position of somebody who clearly hasn't done their homework, and it's hard to argue for gun control if you have done your homework.

I’ve run into a few who do understand what they’re talking about, but most have wildly ignorant ideas about how guns work and what the existing law is.

The Constitution gives "the People" "the right to Keep and Bear Arms." It gives the government the authority to regulate that right. Recall from this thread that the Courts have held even undocumented migrants have Second Amendment rights; rights that are properly regulated by Congress.

The 2nd amendment refers to freedom of tyranny not your every day life or hunting

Also, Military-Style is a buzzword at best. The AR-15 was designed for civilian usage.
