An anti-gun politician had 2 firearms stolen from her house, with no other items (cash, electronics, jewelry, etc) stolen. So it's ok for her to own firearms (and be careless with them), but we unwashed masses can't be trusted with them? She can pound sand.

While campaigning for Congress in 2010, Bass supported legislation that with other regulations would have required all gun dealers to report sales to the federal government.
Bass participated in the 2016 sit-in against gun violence in the House of Representatives. Democratic members of Congress adopted the slogan "No Bill, No Break" in an attempt to push the introduction of legislation making it more difficult for Americans to own guns for self-protection.
Following a burglary of her home in the Baldwin Vista neighborhood of Los Angeles in 2022, Bass confirmed that two legally registered handguns she owned had been stolen.[58]
Bass strongly supports legislation to prohibit the sale, transfer, manufacture, and importation of semiautomatic weapons and ammunition-feeding devices capable of accepting more than ten rounds in the United States. In 2019, she voted in favor of legislation to require a background check for every firearm sale[59] and to close the loophole that allowed a gun to be acquired in the Charleston church massacre.[60]

The funny thing is, she claims the 2 pistols were secured in a Brinks lock box. The problem is, if the lock box isn't attached to anything, then were the firearms REALLY secured?

Eh, like I said, I forgot this was the thread where one is meant to leave common sense at the door. Apologies for my concealed carry.

Ah, right, I'm in the gun thread, common sense (like gun control does not mean anti gun) does not apply. My b.
Gun control by definition is anti-gun. Whoever controls the arms and ammunition has the power; the purpose of gun control is to restrict who has access to arms and ammunition. As gun control disproportionately affects the poor and minorities and is primarily pushed by the wealthy and privileged it's very clear who wants control of the arms and ammunition and who they don't want to have access to them. As for the "why", well, take a guess. Hint: it's not about "public safety".

Make a law forcing the wealthy to sell their guns to the poor at an affordable rate?
