Given that we support our allies far more than they support us, this is likely to be the only area I agree with Thomasi. The world needs us far more than we need them.

That doesn’t mean we abandon them. Trade is extremely important, if we abandon our Allies they can decide that trade with the US isn’t worth it and we start to go into a economic tailspin as we are cut off from the global economy

Nobody wants to invade us because of our military and nukes, but you decided to gut the military and ship our entire arsenal to Germany and kill our production.

Now we have nothing to defend ourselves with and China would most definitely take advantage of that. A few well placed bunker buster missiles could take out our entire land based nuclear arsenal.

Japan invaded the Aleutian Islands and gained a foothold there during WWII, along with their balloon bombs that hit the US, Germany was off our coast sinking ships.
A determined force will find a way to invade.

Trade is important, but there is very little by way of natural resources that are not available domestically, nor does trade require a military alliance.

I wouldn't summarily abandon our allies. I would suggest we just wean them off of our military tit.
