If there is no amnesty and it is a lose lose situation if you have it, then the best move is perhaps to hide it where it can't be found or to dispose of it and pretend you never had it, and get the best legal defense possible if the ATF does come to harass you. Make it so that their evidence for prosecution is so lacking that they have no choice but to cut a deal with you.

If you ordered one of those they already have your name and address, they can come pick you up any time they please.

It kind of sounds like they want you to turn yourself in because they're too afraid to come after you...

The more inaction there is, the more time people involved have to cast doubt, make it look like someone else was responsible, if not just fleeing the country to a place beyond extradition if they're that desperate to elude ATF's clutches. I don't have the part, and if its really just a piece of metal, it does seem like there is little to stop someone from 3D printing the part in private if they know the design and dimensions needed.

House of reps which is nothing more than a house of ill repute just passed that stupid unenforceable background checks on private sales of firearms. Contact your senators to oppose this bill.
Next up and expected to pass, a bill to allow an expanded 10-day review for gun purchases. This too needs to be opposed.

Well the dems gotta push extra hard to pass these rights infringements due to the extraordinarily number of minorities who discovered they too have the right to keep and bear arms, and the dems can't have them wandering off the plantation.

Seems like we need to subsidize background checks then. If we made the government pay the dealer to run the background check, it would be all good.

The whole background check fiasco is ass backwards. It operates from the stand point that you the purchaser is by default a prohibited person and you have to prove you are not, when it's the govts job to prove that you are. I've been against this stupid law since its first day back in the 90s and still oppose it.

Ah but that’s not the point. The background checks and licenses aren’t to make people safer, it’s to make (legally) owning a gun finically unattractive. Cant have the poors owning guns now can we?

I know a lot of people around IL-16 (Adam Kinzinger's district), I used to live in the area. I'll be encouraging people to replace Kinzinger in the GOP primary next year, if he even decides to run again. I also have a friend in FL-16 (Vern Buchanan's district) who I didn't have to tell twice.

Also those Republicans in urban California swing districts that are subject to Democratic gerrymandering next election who still voted against HR8 are a blessing.

I don't quite understand why anyone would let themselves be admitted to any mental health facilities assuming they're really mentally ill but still care about gun rights. Doing so might make them into a prohibited person even if they didn't necessarily do anything criminal.

Its true that people aren't comfortable with the prospect of mentally ill people being armed- perhaps rightfully so. But there might exist a perverse incentive in the US for such people to intentionally not seek any help or treatment if they know they'll have fewer rights by default or means of protecting themselves if they let it happen where they could conceivably get labeled with an undesirable status.

Chisel, hammer, vise. Any lower-tech and you're just bashing rocks together until you get lucky.

Folding some chisel-cut sheet-metal into something of a metal automillwall-bricklink is pretty easy as remembering how to measure 1" flats and how to bend 90 and 45 degree angles like some half-finished question-mark.

AFAIK Form 4473 only prohibits people who've been committed to a mental institution by a court. Case in point, my grandmother admitted my dad to a mental institution for his depression when he was a teen, but he was still able to purchase his firearms legally this last year because the courts didn't commit him to the institution at that time.

Well the ol whore difi has introduced her wet dream "assault weapon" ban and is apparently 125 pages long.
No S# assigned yet
Ban your AR-15s, other rifles, AR pistols and even some shotguns
Federally define "assault weapons" the same way states like California and New York do
Ban standard-capacity magazines that can accept more than 10 rounds
Force you to obtain a special license keep your so-called "assault weapons"
Mandate "safe storage" of your firearms
Institute a ludicrous "buyback" program for your guns
And more.
