Gotta love people who can wholly dismiss the deaths of people browner than them while also, somehow, not being racist.

Reason # 560930953 of why red flag laws need to die.

Red flag laws: Mistaken identity leads to revocation of veteran's firearms license
..."Then, he finally comes out, and he's like you basically have to go to court on the 27th, in two weeks. So I said, 'I'm guilty until I prove myself innocent? That’s why I'm here, trying to show its not me.' And he’s like, 'Since you‘re here, you’ve been served. Here’s your restraining order,'” Carpenter recalled.

He finally connected with someone in the sheriff’s office, who helped him get the injunction dismissed and called the state to get his firearms license reinstated.

"They said they process it in the order it was received and it takes 6-8 weeks. I was like, 'So you can suspend it in one day, instantly, but for somebody else’s mistake, I’ve got to wait 6-8 weeks?'”

Carpenter persisted and got it straightened out sooner than that, but he says his experience of mistaken identity is a red flag, in itself, for politicians who promote the red flags laws and trust the bureaucrats to get it right.

Now imagine the outrage if a red state accidentally removed a black person from the voter rolls and told them they'll have to wait till the next election to vote...

Gun aside this is both extremely illegal, (providing false service of process), and extremely stupid, since now the whoever that restraining order was for can flagrantly violate it and the courts can't impose any consequences because "neener neener you served the wrong person".

I mean, are we really going to pretent that a person looking to commit murder is going to be fazed by a markup on ammunition?

Surprisingly enough, this actually "worked" in Venezuala... but that also required everything costing more than the average person's entire life savings.

Someone should invite her to a gun range and clear that ignorance out of her by having her shoot some guns. Worked a few weeks back when a few of my friends brought along an anti-gunner we know to the range. By the end of it, the guy was praising my buddy's Ruger Blackhawk and understood why we all like the 2nd. He was/is a bit hesitant around the AR but he's warming up.

I try to do the same, getting the ignorant out to the range and dispel years of learned ignorance on firearms.
Also doesn't help that 99% of the media spouts out bullshit and act like firearm experts which leads to such ignorance since most people don't question the information being espoused on the nightly news.

The guy with the Blackhawk also brought his Remington shotgun and Poverty Pony AR and we had a laugh after the anti gun guy was surprised by how little the AR kicked compared to the Remington. Of course it didn't help that my friend had loaded his Remington with 3" slugs but still we all laughed when the shooter was tense and shot one round from the AR and went "woah! Thought that would push harder than the shotgun."

Fun times :D

I get the same reaction from those who fire larger bore firearms, then when I see that smile on their face I know they are hooked and after we leave and go some place for a bite to eat, the questions never end, their need for more input has been awakened.

I still remember the first time I fired a gun that was anything more then a BB gun. We were up on my grandparent's farm, and my dad said something along the lines of "Hey, you kids want to learn to use the .22?" I couldn't say no. Ah, the fun memories of putting .22 hollowpoints through tin cans.

This is worth the read.
Gun Laws Have Basically No Impact on Mass Shooter Rate

This one too.
The (Missing) Link Between Gun Control Laws and Gun Deaths Pro tip: it isn’t there.

First, let’s examine the issue of firearm homicides. It is worth pointing out that Dr. Fleegler removed three states that have both low gun control and very few firearm homicides: New Hampshire (Q2), Vermont (Q2), and North Dakota (Q1). He claimed that the CDC did not have a mean rate for 2007–10. However, I accessed the CDC/WISQARS system and discovered that they do in fact have aggregated rates available for those three states. Therefore it seems rather strange that he would exclude them since their absence could easily skew the results.

This is a typical move by antis to eliminate data sets that give them results they don't like. Pretty much every JAMA review, or other PHE reviews are guilty of this when it comes to gun control.

Hundreds of Gun Rights Supporters Spoil Bloomberg Campaign’s Arlington, VA Gun Control Rally

Spoiler Alert: this story has a happy ending with Michael Bloomberg’s presidential campaign bus veering off into a political ditch at its final stop in Virginia on Sunday night.

That’s because members of my Patriot Picket crew joined forces with the Virginia Citizens Defense League and others to give the arriving Bloomberg team a Second Amendment welcome—one that absolutely undercut the boisterous gun-control festivities that they had planned for the evening.
Spoiler Alert #2: The media came to cover the Bloomberg event, but our Second Amendment crowd hijacked the coverage and flipped the media narrative to be a story about Bloomberg opposition.

To add to the fun, some of our gun rights advocates were able to bamboozle their way past Bloomberg’s bouncers guarding the door to the campaign office grand opening.
Our “gun control” imposters then took to the stage and surprised the Bloombergians by commandeering the microphone to offer speeches—albeit brief ones—on “gun rights as a civil right” before being ushered out of the storefront to the cheers and high-fives from the our 2A crowd.

Once again, it seems some alphabet soup agency is blaming society for the actions of the criminal.
ATF: Criminals exploiting Alabama gun laws
"Someone may purchase 10 firearms legally, go out and shoot them, then they transfer that firearm not from dealer to dealer but individual to individual," said Watson.

He says that like it's a bad thing. Well it isn't.

Watson says another problem is the lack of gun registration requirements here make it difficult for law enforcement to determine if a gun was stolen or not in certain crimes.

This part here is hand-wringing nonsense. Registration is a canard and doesn't offer anything safety-wise, never has never will.

Well, does it's serial number match one that's been stolen? Because that would be quite the clue there dumbass.

Hah, suck that fucking shit Corporate Power-Hungry Black Prince Bloomberg! Bloomberg's already a fucking laughable ''''presidential candidate'''' for his brain-deprived PR moves, political gaffes, being the kind of billionaire he is and the fact that he hypocritically is a strong supporter for gun control whilst wanting to mass police specifically minority neighbourhoods but the facts he's gone to this point of getting rampaged by gun rights supporters and others who hate him at his events to show how much they hate him and how disagreeable he is really tells something.

Also, what even the fuck is with the Virginian government just straight up not doing what its people want? I've heard immigration from California is a factor but literally the entire state government are gun control-screaming Democrats who weren't even supported by their own people to ever enforce gun control. I bet an elitist majoritarian stance on voting has something to do with the people not getting what they want, since, say, about one-third of the population votes, if they got even barely above 50% they get to have everything they want enforced, much to the chagrin of literally everyone else. Such voting stance where the bare majority gets to have disproportionate control over democracy is also an inherently conformist stance that favours those who conform with the majority and tells everyone else to conform or not be listened to, completely neglecting those with different views.

Arizona Senate Committee Approves City Liability for ‘Gun-Free’ Zones
An Arizona Senate panel on Thursday advanced a measure that would make government entities that don’t allow guns on their property liable if people are shot on their premises.

The proposal from Republican Sen. David Gowan would allow anyone to sue if they or loved ones are injured or killed after being barred from carrying weapons for self-defense on government property.

The measure is the latest in a years-long series of pro-gun measures that are routinely approved by the Republican-controlled Legislature.

Arizona is among the most gun-friendly states in the nation, allowing open or concealed carry of guns without a permit in most places. But efforts to allow weapons on property owned by schools, universities and government buildings have failed.

“It’s just a simple bill that says if a government creates gun-free zones which prohibit a law-abiding citizen from defending themselves, then if harm comes to them because of that policy that entity will be held liable for the damages,” Gowan told the Senate Judiciary Committee. “The point is, if you have a policy like this you protect them or allow them to protect themselves or there will be consequences.”
